Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Raises His Level in Sparring, Team is Pleased

EIGHT-DIVISION world champion Manny Pacquiao put on his finest performance in sparring so far as he went 10 rounds at the Wild Card Gym of seven-time Trainer of the Year Freddie Roach on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

Roach’s assistant trainer Marvin Somodio told BoxingScene.com/The Standard: “It was Manny’s best performance so far. He sparred five rounds with Kenneth Simms Jr. and five rounds with Dashon ‘Fly Boy’ Johnson.”

Fly Boy, a former UFC lightweight contender, who claimed he started boxing because of undefeated pound-for-pound No.1 Floyd Mayweather Jr., but said he is totally committed to helping Pacquiao prepare for the multi-million dollar showdown against Floyd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 2.

So he beats up a former UFC fighter and it was his greatest sparring? I will pass. More and more it seems Pac and Freddie is in over their head. I just hope they can make the fight competitive.

It's actually a perfect sparring partner to practice against elbow throws and grappling.

Sparring is not the same as going up against the real thing. May 2, 2015 school will be in session.

              That's your perception.

It is not about beating up someone and thought that's your perception of it...it's about working with specifics and isolation with specifics. Obviously you already have a PRE-JUDGEMENT of Pac's limitations and no matter what it will not suffice you.

This is when it will come to shock many of Mayweather's fans that he is deemed as "infallible"...

Sparring mates are saying "he's coming from different angles", it will be difficult for his opponents. Trainers are pleased watching the Pacman...but the head trainer Freddie Roach is still saying "we're getting there" meaning to say that there are more things to be added to Manny Pacquiao's skill. Imagine how good the Pacman will be fight night. Chicken Floyd you better watch it and please don't forget to tell your dad to wear diapers on May 2nd.

So Pacquiao is gonna fight him like an MMA Fighter. Floyd already beat an MMA fighter in Marcos Maidana. The first fight that is.
