Difference being Khan had never fought at 147

Broner has two fights at 147 against two good boxers, and he also had a title

I dont see why this fight needs a CW, Rick Broner Ross is more than capable of making 147, he's a big booty boy

I can actually see where Khan is coming from. If his only option is late May then his options aren't that good. Algeri it is but his opponent at the end of the year BETTER be a Thurman/Brook/Maidana/Porter level fighter.

I thought Broner wanted Khan at #147

^ yep, Peterson-Garcia @ 140 for all the belts would have been better for the division. If getting down to 140 is taking so much out of them ... makes me wonder why Peterson & Garcia still campaign at the division

How on earth is Khan "ducking" Broner? Here's a tweet from Broner "Facetimed @AmirKingKhan yesterday hopefully we get this fight on for #June6th #147

note the hashtagged 147. if Khan is "ducking" Broner ... why is Broner talking big about fighting at 147 .. then asking for a catchweight?

I think the CW is an easy out for Broner ... he knows Khan fights at WW, which has a max of 147

After the loss to Maidana, wasn't it Broner who was very vocal about wanting to get back in vs Maidana?

Broner needs to man up ... if you're gonna call a guy out, save the catchweight nonsense and fight him at the proper weight

Amir Khan talked lots of opponents but then use Ramadan as excused!

I believed he has couple of fights previously that took place 1 week before the Ramadan!

Used the name of Cotto to promote himself!
If he does fight Miguel Cotto and Win then his stock will soar high!

Although, I highly doubt he really wants to fight Cotto!
If Amir is willing to fight at 154 lb then he's sincere about it! otherwise it's all BS!

I'm sure will he say it later, Cotto didn't want to fight him because he doesn't want to move down to 147 lb!

Amir lists a bunch of fighters and then throws out excuses. But Maidana/Thurman don't have enough time to prepare, but Broner wants a catchweight, but Cotto wants June 6th, but Ramadan, but Kell Brook hasn't faced anyone, but...compromise is a 2 way street.

So why did he announce it if it wasn't 100%?

Obviously he's having second thoughts after the backlash this fight has got.

Very simple solution; Stop ducking Brook and get a career high pay and a chance at becoming a 2 weight world Champion.

Wait wait wait....so he can't fight on june? Then what the hll was the whole point of chasing a fight with cotto? Was he expecting cotto to fight him outside of that month? Haha danm khan really believes he's some elite or A+ caliber fighter

... If Amir Khan needs two weeks to "prepare for Ramadan" and the fasting period runs from mid June through mid July, he's basically stating that you will never see him in a summer stadium fight (he's not going to push himself in camp while fasting dawn till dusk, so an eight-week camp would have to wait till after Rmadan, putting him on track for a late August fight at the earliest).

It's not like Ramadan changes much, year to year.

Khan's problem is how he tried to sell the Algieri fight. If he sold it to us as a "stay busy" fight because his schedule didnt align with the guys he wanted to get, we might have accepted it without so much backlash. But selling Algieri as A-level competition was a joke.

Broner knows he ain't got enough pop to fight the way he does at full WW. Mosley is the only dude I can think of who skipped 140 and still blasted guys at WW.
