To be fair to Brook, his first choice is to fight Khan and Khan doesn't want it so most possible other opponents don't seem as appealing apart from Thurman maybe. Outside of that, Rios isn't really a bad choice and if it happens, it's because Brook can't get the man he wants to fight in the ring with him.

Whoever Brook fights next, as long as they're a decent name, i won't be hard on him because his intention to fight Khan is genuine. It's not his fault he cant get his opponent.

Brandon Rios is a name and he is a action pack fighter, the fight can sell but Kell Brooks isn't a Boogie Man !!

Nah disagree, I thought Chaves was very comfortable at the time of the DQ, Rios was getting frustrated and complaining more and more as the rounds went by. I had Chaves 1 point up, plus he was and he was winning the round he got DQ'd, if you take away the ****** point deductions, he was a few points up. He didn't clinch anywhere near as many times as Brook will.

Believe me mate, it's an easy fight for Brook.

I don't see Brook having any problems with predictable, come-forward robots like Rios. He can be outboxed and ouoworked by more athletic swarmer like Porter imo.

it's a good fight, but they shouldn't be lenient with the clinching

It's a back-handed compliment to say Rios is a bad opponent 2nd defence in. Brook is building his profile, and why not a fighter as wholly committed as Rios? He doesn't have the speed of foot of Porter, but there again he's more compact and doesn't wing his shots.

As easy as it is to downgrade now, coming to the US and taking the title from Porter was a massive statement for Brook's ability and mindset. And so Brook is the bogeyman in the sense that he raised the bar and still represents an unknown quantity to the rest of the division.

Algieri's best win Provodnikov smashed through Alvarado and made him quit on stool.

Furthermore, Rios is horribly limited as seen vs Abril and arguably shot.
Gavin is **** so is Algieiri.

Rios is OK - just decent enough.

Please don't try to compare Rios to Algieri. Algieri is the 8th ranked 140 pounder in the world. Sorry. Wrong weight class. Too small. Algieri is coming directly off the most one sided loss in history. Algieri can't punch at all even at 140. Rios is the 10th ranked welterweight in the world and that is the weight class Khan and Brook compete in. Rios is a dangerous puncher with both hands and he has two wins since his loss to Pacquiao including a smashing KO of Alvarado. Rios is a decent opponent for Khan or Brook and Algieri is not a good opponent for either of them at this time. If Algieri beats a good welterweight then he would qualify as a good opponent. He was an undefeated champion when Pacquiao fought him and he was still a cherry pick for Manny.
