However it's not been announced by Eddie Hearn and Brook himself that they are in talks to face Brandon rios. They talk about facing the big fights...the Marquez, the thurmans, the bradleys...but now they are picking Brandon Rios? furthermore FRANKIE GAVIN!! is being mentioned as a potential opponent for Brook?

So getting to my point...is this not hypocritical from the Brook camp? from those criticizing Khan's choice of opponent (justifiably so of course). Does Brook not deserve a backlash for facing either these opponents when as a champion he could pick any top welterweight with the exception of pac and mayweather?

    Your thoughts please.
Kell Brook is looking to set up money fights; if they could get Brook vs Marquez from Bramall Lane, he takes that fight without hesitation. If Khan would accept the June 13th Wembley fight, that'd be fine too.

Kell Brook, at this point in time, is starting to emerge as a UK/US crossover star; Hearn, his promoter, is simply targeting fights that will keep Brook on Sky Sports/Showtime.

Tim Bradley isn't going to England, Keith Thurman is still on the short end of that risk/reward calculation and is facing a medical suspension through July, and the top two guys at the weight are facing off against each other.

Outside of Marcos Maidana (still enjoying those Floyd paydays, though targeting an August return), how far down the list is Rios really?

Doubt that Rios could actually win the fight, but he's got some name value stateside and he seems rugged enough to put forward a good fight; it's a stay-busy fight, and a pretty decent one at that.

It's a crap fight. Rios doesn't deserve a title shot. He still has Abril problems

Brooks has had enough fun fights against 30 odd bums
        name them?

        top welters:
        Floyd - busy
        Manny - busy
        Marquez - contemplating retiring
Khan - doesn't want the work
Bradley - likely won't be willing to travel
        Brook
Thurman - risk/reward, injury suspension through July

Rios isn't the "omg, I can't wait" fight, but who are all of these other 'better options'?

Keith Thurman: suspended until June 6, with no contact until May 7 due to hematoma on forehead.

A goggle search and i found that.

Thurman can't fight in Nevada until July and can't even have contact until May due to the hematoma on his head according to NSAC.
