I agree. Fury is Klitschko's mandatory after Jennings. (Jennings is voluntary) If Fury can beat Klitschko that would make a Wilder VS Klitschko fight null.

In short he has the tools, he has the right firepower but he does not really have the right experience and know how at the moment to really like his chances.

As time passes and Wlad ages while Wilder gains more experience that starts to change, in a year I might favor Wilder if he can keep it going and in two who knows that is like an eternity in boxing.
      Pretty much this.

        Maybe.

Keep in mind, Klitschko is past his 39th birthday now.

He's been through many grueling training camps, where he pushes himself very hard.

Wilder's only chance would be to try and take Klitschko out within the first couple of rounds. I don't see Wilder's chin holding up to many straight right hands from Klitschko.

he's got a decent chance though I wouldn't favor him against wlad if the fight happened this year

wlad seems to take more risks against tall fighters, his fight against wach was pretty entertaining compared to his fights against leapai, povetkin and mormeck...wilder also has pretty good speed for a heavyweight and he showed some control against stiverne instead of resorting to repeatedly catapulting that right hand

anyone who carries power and isn't afraid to throw stands a chance against wlad.

wilder carries power and is not afraid to throw, so yeah he stands a chance.

question is, is it a big enough chance?

Thing is guys, Wilder has only been in with one live body and he managed a UD, and that live body was severely dehydrated to the point of hospitalisation. No way is Wilder outboxing Klitschko, the more I think about it the less chance I give Wilder. I would not heavily favour Wilder vs Povetkin if that fight is made either. Povetkin is appreciably better than Stiverne.

Fury is a joke. Wlad will knock him out early. Wilder needs to gain 20 lbs and put it all in his toothpick legs and learn to go to the body. He knows how, he just doesn't do it. Wilder needs about three more top ten fights while gaining leg muscle and working on body shots. He needs a year with Teddy Atlas. Unfortunately Wlad will probably be retired by then. Too many boxers making it on athletic ability without good coaching.

povetkin is more active than stiverne and he throws combinations...I don't necessarily think he's (much) better than stiverne...stiverne is a pretty good counter puncher, he knows how to set traps and he's fast

Wilder does possess the punch to shatter Klit's glass chin but he's such an awful boxer with terrible technique, footwork ,balance etc that Klit would most likely take him out early.
Fury is the one who is going to beat Klit.
