Exactly! Plus, Mayweather had a choice along the line that would allow him to be a figure that endears people to him. He chose to become the bad guy. In his own words right before the Oscar fight as he put it, "someone needs to be the bad guy". The problem is that once he received negative feedback for that behavior, it further pushed him in that direction and then he wondered why he wasn't receiving the adoration of the boxing community, not realizing that he forged his persona as the bad guy, the arrogant guy, and pushed people away and that further made him strive to justify himself so he made negative statements about how he was better than Ali, Robinson and insulted fighter like Larry Holmes, Sugar Ray Leonard, and others.
He dug a hole for himself and built the walls around him. America wants their stars to have some Charisma and be the golden boy's of their eras like Leonard and Oscar were. Both those guys in their prime endeared the public. Hell, my mother when she saw Leonard with that huge million-dollar smile during the Olympics, she thought he was adorable, wanted to see him fight even though she was not a boxing fan. When women from all across this nation are endeared to a boxer, that boxers has transcended the sport. Floyd didnt like that about Oscar. That endearing factor didn't happen for Floyd. He became his alter-ego. That was his choice. And it fed on itself like gasoline on top of gasoline in a fire. Floyd has the Charisma of a piss soaked role of toilet paper. He created the persona that he wanted, made his bed, and lays in it. He wanted respect, that is why he changed.
Gaining respect does not mean gaining admiration. Boxing is not always about what happens in the ring. Floyd could beat Pac 5 times and he will not gain both the admiration and respect of everyone. He will have the respect, but endearing yourself to the world has come hard for Floyd. It wont happen. At the end of the day if he beats Pac, he will have that satisfaction. Hopefully some day Floyd will grow up. He is emotionally somewhere between 13-16. Maybe its because he never really had a childhood like others.Comment

Dude, you are in serious denial. First, The fact that Pac is more warmly welcomed in the US by a huge stretch over Floyd is not even up for debate. Pac has been on more talk shows, late night, day time, more commercials, and invited to the white house and british royalty and countless other spots is an undeniable glaring fact.
Second, even Arnold Schwarzeneggar and Sylvester Stallone have reached out and asked Pacquiao to be a part of a movie because Pacquiao's enormous worldwide fan base would support any film Manny were to be in which would be excellent for business and ticket sales at the box office. Commercials? I wont even go there. If Mayweather had chosen long ago to endear himself to the public, respect former great fighters, reach out to others with a warm personality, make better decisions, he would be right up there with Pac. His downfall began when on live TV he talked about what he would do to guys like Oscar if they both were is prison, sht that you do not do to build up a fight, going over the line like he did. That's where Floyd changed. I know, I was a fan of Floyd's for 10 years. I admired the sht out of him.
He turned me off right with his personality change and turned off the public since. Men, women, and children are not endeared to a **** head. This is not about who is a better person, it is about how a fighter projects themselves and what the public knows about that fighter. He will never be more popular than Pac, what he will have over Pac if he wins, is a win, and that's all that matters to him. For that, he will get my respect, not my admiration. He has a long way to go for that. There is a humble person inside of almost everyone trying to get out. Jr has NEVER been tested. Maidana nearly had him just not fast enough. JR over the past ten years has AVOIDED all those who would have TESTED HIM,,,for a simple reason. Those that would have tested him might have taken his 0 and thats his money game , have numbdumbs like yall to praise him and he will keep fighting the b and c fighters.
