Obviously, he isn't a 160 fighter. And, how is Geale not a challege? Just because he lost to GGG doesn't mean he isn't a solid fighter. Its a challege for Cotto because he isn't a 160 pound fighter.Comment

seem to recall geale being deemed as GGG first legit opponent...
logically since he is being pegged as a potential opponent for Cotto, he suddenly is not a legit opponent...amazing but not surprising for this is logic nsb/bs style...

you've got weird logic.
GGG KO geale
but cotto is fighting Geale and not GGG.
Nobody with sense is saying that Geale won't be damn tricky for Cotto, just that it's pathetic that cotto is afraid to fight GGG and is fighting his left overs instead. What's hard to understand about that?Comment

I guess thats why Boxing still leads all combat sports in all demographics, has the highest paid athlete in the history of sports, makes more money than and has more lucrative tv deals then every other combat sport put together, even failing PPV's are more lucrative then other combat sport PPV's, and has a fighter who owns multiple Guinness records, not to mention that some sparring partners make more then MMA fighters. When was the last time you saw a presidential candidate at an MMA event? Is there an MMA or WWE hall of fame yet?
Im sorry what sport was failing again?Comment

Its crazy how some don't see a problem with this, He should fight GGG, Geale has no fan base in America and got stopped in 3 by GGG. Waste of time, nothing but a money fight to put money in Cottos pocket, just leave 160, if your not gonna fight at the weight so called "lineal champ" is a disgrace.Comment

If Cotto would not vacate, I don't like the idea of Cotto-Canelo. That would leave GGG out in the cold. And he is long overdue to the lineal title shot. There would be no title at stake between Cotto-Canelo. So no reason for the winner to fight GGG.
Cotto is probably looking for someone to fight that HBO will have no reason to refuse or put conditions on. Picking one of GGG's previous opponents gives Cotto a better bargaining position. He has no interest in fighting either Canelo or GGG at middleweight and he really needs to get back in the ring.Comment
