You cant take ur eyes off the ball in this sport, its all or nothing.

Algieri used a lot of head movement, he didnt give Khan room to breath, smothered his work, he was on Khans ass 24/7. The left hook wasnt landing much though, but that right hand did a few times.

Overall Khan still outworked him, landed the more accurate shots, and avoided getting into a brawl/dog fight. That was the first real athletic boxer Khan has fought since Zab. Algieri had a number of tools to trouble Khan with and he used them, but throwing one right hand every 2 or 3 rounds isnt going to win you a fight on the cards.
    any idea why that was?

not sure if thats true, khan didnt look gassed to be fair...

yea he landed the right quiet a few times,
if algeiri used his jab effectively to let him come in and land some combination it wouldve been good,
but like you say you cant win rounds with single shots here and there

Yea you got the height and reach thing spot on, but i think you forget to mention Chris is a good athlete and quick on his feet, which combined with these other attributes makes him a difficult opponent for someone like Khan.

According to John David Jackson, (the video is up on boxingvoice), when Hunter found out JDJ was training Algieri, thats when they started taking the fight seriously. In JDJ words "they only got serious 3 weeks ago"

To me, Algieri was landing cleaner. It shouldn't really matter whether Algieri has < insert big puncher name here > type power. It's not like Khan was offsetting Algieri's power with much harder shots of his own.

Anyway, I guess we both saw different things, and that's cool. I just really really hope we don't get Mayweather-Khan next.

            interesting...

tell you what another thing i was disappointed with khans power,
we know algeiri has a good chin,
but in the whole fight i cant remember one moment where khan hurt or stunned algeiri...

Virgil has Khan thinking too much. He doesn't look comfortable in there.

I just don't think Khan knew how to react to Algieri coming forward. No one really expected that to happen and I think it had him confused

I thought Khan was far more active in terms of letting his hands go, Algieri was having to chase to get into range then spent a lot of time covering up before letting his shots go, and when he did let them go they often hit air (as well as the odd big shot that got through). He just wasn't doing enough to win the rounds for me. Interpretation I guess.

I'm not too bothered about Mayweather-Khan, I think he's destined not to land the fight anyway, the timing just never goes right for him.

                      Yes you are right

The commentator at one point mentions that Hunter tells Khan in the corner, something about John David Jackson has Algieri fighting out of his normal character

and then you hear Khan mention post fight interview, they were not expecting Algieri to fight like that, so they needed a plan b.

Chris flipped the script on Khan..

Khan eventually made the relevant adjustments
