Comments Thread For: Amir Khan-Chris Algieri is Official For May Showdown

Former WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri (20-1, 8KOs) got his wish, because British superstar Amir Khan (30-3, 19KOs) has announced him as his next opponent for May 30th. The fight is taking place at 147-pounds, no venue or location has been announced.

Algieri had told BoxingScene.com earlier in the week that he was the frontrunner to face Khan. The Long Island fighter is coming off his first career defeat, a November twelve round decision loss to Manny Pacquiao in Macau, China. Pacquiao was unable to stop Algieri, who went down six times in the contest

I won't be tuning in, that's for sure. If it's on the undercard of a great main fight, i'll watch. As the main event itself? No way.

hope Algieri pulls the upset... just to ruin Amir Khan's hopes for a fight with Pac or Floyd.

Why isn't Haymon matching up his welterweights?...Thurman, Porter, Khan

                  Weak Match up for Amir

Not surprised this seems to be his teams M.O. but to fight Algeri with a Brook fight possible kind of Wack

Amir's team seem happy to wait for a Manny / May fight instead of earning it
