This has to do with the situation with Cotto, Canelo, ODH, Top Rank & Rocnation as written in the title. Bardock posted a link from another article in boxingscene,

in the last portion of that article it states:

"A fight with Canelo is a more lucrative option for the puerto rican star, but Golden Boy will only deal with Cotto and have no interest to involve Top Rank with the event."

This was in reference to cotto & martinez.

Now fast forward to today, Cotto signed with Roc nation as we know, Canelo signed to fight Kirkland while Cotto is still in TBA mode.

So does that means if Cotto didn't take the Roc Nation deal and was still with Top Rank we wouldn't get the Cotto-Canelo fight?

I don't think Cotto will ever fight Canelo under any circumstances. That's just my opinion but I think time will prove me right. If Cotto ever fights Canelo then I was wrong. Canelo has been asking to fight Cotto for the past two years and it has not happened yet.
