This has to do with the situation with Cotto, Canelo, ODH, Top Rank & Rocnation as written in the title. Bardock posted a link from another article in boxingscene,

"A fight with Canelo is a more lucrative option for the puerto rican star, but Golden Boy will only deal with Cotto and have no interest to involve Top Rank with the event."

This was in reference to cotto & martinez.

Now fast forward to today, Cotto signed with Roc nation as we know, Canelo signed to fight Kirkland while Cotto is still in TBA mode.

So does that means if Cotto didn't take the Roc Nation deal and was still with Top Rank we wouldn't get the Cotto-Canelo fight?

Are you serious? Article is from last year. The political landscape has changed completely. Shaeffer is no longer with GBP, Canelo is now on HBO, and Top Rank has worked with GBP.
