I'm a "UK fanboy" yet I'm digging out Amir Khan

At least come back at me with something that makes sense.

-You called me a fan boy in the process claiming a moral high ground of being a "boxing" fan.

-Since, you're a "boxing" fan, I asked you why stop at certain fighters? Stop backing them based on their nationality too then? Back them based on skill/talent alone.

I think it's natural to feel more affinity to fighters who are from your own country much like you support a football team where you're from.

At the same time, I do support fighters based on talent - I've never supported Gavin Rees because he's a complete bum - I preferred Broner in that fight.

I watched a guy like DeGale ever since the Olympics - the fact that he's from close to where I'm from make its easier to support him but if he had no talent then I wouldn't give a ****. I support many fighters from other countries too.

That's not even the point though. I will still criticisea fighter if they pull some weak **** like what Amir Khan is doing right now. You refuse to criticise - you go the other way and suck his **** to the hilt no matter what he does. THAT is called being a fanboy. You don't support what's best for boxing - you support anything that one of your favourite fighters does even if it's embarrassing to the sport and to the fans.

He never will get the props he deserve to begin with. It is always something else. How many World champs from UK have taken their title to America in first voluntary? Stuff like that. My sign is funny as many have told me, but it has a reality behind it. You have Hatton who milked the Tsyzu win and is a freaking legend. Calzaghe with his fruit cake defenses. So, I don't care what Khan does. The sport betrayed Khan when they didn't reverse his loss or take the IBF belt from Peterson, so why the hell should he care?

Algieri is still coming off of challenging for the WW title against Manny Pacquiao of all. Not bad.


Well, I hope that criticism applies to Hatton-Witter or Calzaghe's reign as WBO champ as well then. May I add Frochy ducking the Ward rematch.

He is ducking Brook, Algeiri is a cherry pick. Not to say that Algieri is a bad fighter but he is taylor made for Khan. Khan has had a tough career with massive set backs he wants to fight Mayweather. Brooks career looks like its been built to topple Khans , a loss to Brook would be devastaing. If Khan gets beaten he loses a huge amount, it's risky for Brook also but more so for Khan. fighting Algeiri and then waiting to see what happens with Mayweather Pacquaio is a logical move.

And obviously the safest!

I would absolutely sh** a brick if Khan chose Thurman.
