Oh please, it's just a PR stunt. Nothing more nothing less. I guarantee you, just like most wealthy people, he doesn't give a sht about the homeless and the disadvantaged.

Stop making him out as some sort of moral martyr.

Given the things he has done empathy probably isn't high up on the list of Stevenson's personal qualities but it's possibly worth noting he was homeless himself at one point, I read he lived in a bus station or train station or something like that.

I don't watch Floyd Mayweather fights simply because I believe he is an all around foul human being. Does that make me any less of a boxing fan? I have been a die hard fan for more than forty years so I don't believe so. With that said, I am happy that he is in fact fighting the Pacman. But only because everyone will then stop talking about it.
Hey Raven , while I do enjoy spirited debates , I believe that it's ok to agree to disagree as we clearly do not see eye to eye pertaining to this issue . I don't see boxers as shiny role models but rather as trained killers with gloves to lighten the blow , alwhile some still do die in the ring . I will have to side with aboutfkntime on this one when he states that professional fighters are some of the most checkered characters on the planet . I mean realistically , who in their right mind would use their head as a punching bag for a profession ? U say it's a black thing with me but i also take exception to Ward's S.O.G moniker . If u were really connected to God , do u really think he'd want u to f..k people up for a living . I think Tupac said it best when he said "There's no religion in getting shot" well , there's also no religion in getting punched in ur face , concussed or put into a coma for the sake of someone's entertainment .This is why I don't like when people bring moral or religious considerations into play with this sport . If any serious considerations should be made , it should be whether combat sports should be done away with totally . If ur only concern is to make sure the boxers image is squeaky clean then u are putting the carriage before the horse , and trust me , that carriage won't pull that horse .If Stevenson was a nice guy before he became a boxer than he wouldn't of became a boxer in the first place . Find me one boxer who's a nice guy and I bet u he hasn't won a round let alone a fight . Boxers r some of the meanest most heartless s.o.b's on the planet so if ur gonna swim in this cesspool like the rest of us and watch it , don't expect rosy backgrounds or behavior from these guys past or present , it's just not who they r ! As far as u rooting for Kov over Stevenson , that's fine as they r both foreign . But where it gets a bit confusing is when Kov fought B-hop and damn near everybody white on here rooted for the newly arrived foreigner fresh off the banana boat who couldn't speak a lick of English over our "American" legend B-Hop . Aren't we suppose to root for our fellow countryman like the Canadians did for Pascal from beginning to end vs Kov ? B-hops image is pretty clean , so why no one white rooted for him ? Don't get me wrong , I can care less if no one but me was rooting for B-hop but don't piss on me and then try and tell me it's raining , that's insulting !

Hopkins did a stint in jail over 20 years ago Weeb, I thought by now he'd not only be redeemed , but also considered as one of America's great stories of redemption, perhaps I'm wrong .

Because when it comes down to it he's a boring windbag. He is completely humourless, and he takes himself far too seriously. In any walk of life, people just get bored of someone like that.

And his frequent lectures that he seems to think are so heavily laden with wisdom are in fact empty, rambling, narcissistic monologues that impress only impressionable youths or the simple-minded. For everyone else they're just dull.

Squeaky clean? Who said anything about squeaky clean fighters? Matter of fact there aren't all that many squeaky clean people regardless of what they happen to do for a living. You also missed my point completely. And why?

Because I wasn't debating with you if fighters should be judged by their character, I was only pointing out how you were going about what you were doing. And what was that?

You came onto the forum on your high horse bashing forum members for passing judgement of what Adonis has done outside the ring and you did this while you passed judgment on them. I was going to say that you are actually no different then the ones you are bashing but in reality you are. And why are you different?

Because they at least have information to base their opinion on when you know nothing about most of the individuals on this forum. For the most part you don't even know what color they happen to be and yet you are quick to call them bigots.

I am also sure that there are more than a few boxing fans who happen to be black that believe Adonis is a moron for what he has done in the past. So please put the race card away because personally I believe they have been overplayed.

As far as Bhop is concerned I never considered myself a fan of his but it had nothing to do with the color of his skin. I just always believed that he was a boring dirty fighter without an ounce of humility. But I still have watched many of his fights and I have to admit that he has actually grown on me the past few years.

Therefore, even though I was rooting for Kovalev I was honestly happy that the Krusher did not KO Bhop. Simply because I didn't want to see his career end that way and I for one truly hope he retires before someone does brutally knock him out.

In closing I will say that I am also pretty sure that there were more then a few white boys sitting in bars around Philly last November that were rooting for their hometown fighter. Therefore you lumping fans together just because you assume that they are white is in my opinion what is truly insulting.
