You're comparing apples to oranges. What is being said is that Floyd will walk PAC down, and go for the KO,which is what margarito was trying to do,and its why he got his face rearranged. What Marquez did was completely different. He studied Pacquiao for 42 rounds, took one hell of a beating in the 4th fight,in order to land the perfect career defining full body counter punch. While Marquez doesn't hit as hard as margarito, due to size difference,he still hits like a mule, and add the fact that Pacquiao walked into the right hand, and you have the perfect recipe for a KO. If Floyd wants to hurt Manny,is would have to be with a verry hard counter right hand, not by trying to attack Pacquiao. If he trys pushing the fight, and actually engaging with Pacquiao, I see it ending badly for Floyd, because Pacquiao fights better when his opponents are aggressive, not when they're patient and looking to counter.

I'm actually of the opinion that a decision is something Floyd can't win......His style of one or two big right hand won't win the rounds vs Pacquiao because when Manny throws 4-5 punches he may only land one but he gets credit for more...

The knockout though is really realistic.... for one Floyd fights aggressively vs southpaws...it's how he was taught.....two... Manny is there to be hit....Manny never had a great chin and Marquez has never had great power(yet was consistently able to hurt Manny throughout their series)
Take this entire post and throw it in the trash with the exception of Floyd can only win by Ko. Manny has been known to have an excellent chin since he moved up in weight. He took Morales, Barrera, cotto, margarito, Rios, took their best shots and nobody could knock him down. Even Marquez took 4 fights to put pacquiao down. Also I dont think pacquiao gets credit for all of the punches he lands. He throws so many combos and they are so quick that a few of them look like they missed completely but if you watch carefully you can see they did land. In Marquez 3 Manny consiststantly beat Marquez to the bunch and was landing combos all night, yet people said he was missing all night. Watch the fight again and pay attention because if you don't watch close he is so quick you dont even see some of the punches land.

Floyd "Toyed" with Marquez and even sat him down during their fight, and even though there were no KO's, it only took one fight.

It almost looked too easy a win for Floyd.

Do you believe that was due to the weight difference in their fight, or to Floyd's superiority on that night?

i used that comparison because more importantly it was one of floyd's most recent fights, and maidana is a come forward agressor. you can't really compare any of the fighters floyd faced to pacman, maybe cotto or hatton at best.

Well as you know Marquez had never fought above 135 and jumped all the way up to 147 to fight Floyd. On top of that Floyd came into the fight overweight. It was clear mayweather had an enormous weight advantage in that fight. On top of that, Marquez tried to counterpunch the counterpuncher which was a dumb game plan. Same thing canelo tried except Marquez did it literally the whole fight. This notion that because mayweather is bigger he will be able to walk pacman down is delusional. If cotto, de la Hoya, and margarito got punished bad for trying to walk Manny down, the result will be the same. Floyd is going to be running and pot shotting the whole fight like he usually does because he wont have a choice against pacquiao. Its either run or get his face rearranged. With that being said, maidana and Castillo did a beautiful job at cutting off the ring which I believe Manny will do. He did a great job of it against algieri who's legs I think are better than mayweathers at this point.

I just want to know one boxer who has ever been successful at walking pacquiao down during a fight. Its either they run once they feel his power or they get their faces mushed in. Marquez had success because he will willing to take hard shots to land his own. Mayweather takes a safety first approach which will hurt him in this fight. I'm not buying that hes changing his whole style up for this fight. Hes been trained his whole life to do anything to avoid punishment at all costs, its too ingrained in his mind at this point. He will clam up even more than he usually does once he feels the speed and power of pacquiao.

Mayweather came in at the WW limit for a WW fight. Every fighter should do what Mayweather did. **** these agreements if you want to fight someone in that division fight by the division limits.
