HBO is very smart to pass on this garbage fight unless Cotto agrees to fight Canelo next. Heiland being number 1 ranked is a joke. On reputable MW rankings he doesn't even crack the top 10. Either agree to fight Canelo or GGG next and put it in writing. Otherwise pass on this crap and let Showtime overpay for it. Cotto clearly has no intentions of ever fighting GGG and has literally ducked fighting Canelo now 3 times (passed on Canelo to fight Trout, passed on Canelo to fight Sergio, and now passed on Canelo to fight Heiland).
Props to HBO for putting their foot down. I used to respect Cotto but if he wants to end his career by taking long layoffs and taking safe fights that's his right, but HBO don't have to pay for it.
