Augustus struggled with Rangel until the late rounds of their fight. That's not my idea of a good performance. I think Hatton would have had Rangel out of there by the end of the 4th round.

Augustus would not be competitive against Hatton it would be a wipeout...at this stage in Emanuel's career he has no shot against a pressure animal like Ricky, no shot.

Watch Augustus fight Leo Dorin...you would think on paper Augustus would be extrrememly competitive but in reality Dorin won just about every round.

The Lazcano fight would have been the fight that I was getting hot and heavy over and now that its gone I really dont care who Ricky fights I just want him to look good on US soil...I like Emanual Augustus and wouldnt mind if he got a decent payday but lets not kid ourselves here...he has absolutely no chance against Ricky Hatton-it wont be competitive.

I don't see it that way at all. I think you're selling Augustus short. I've seen the Dorin fight, and ask you, do you know how much notice he took that fight on? Less than two weeks.

Hatton surely would be favored and would likely win, but Augustus takes a hell of a punch, and Hatton's not a one punch guy. It would be a pressure fight with tons of shots thrown, and Augustus would be there every step of the way, and would put up an exciting fight.

Lazscano would have been a good opponent, but that's not happening anymore.

So for the sake of the discussion, let's speak about what is happening.

Bottom line, it's a better fight than the Collazo or Naoufel Ben Rabah figh any way you look at it.

It's no coincidence I find myself asking that anytime you share your opinion on a fight.

He lost a few of the early rounds on points, but turned it up in the 3rd and 4th.

Emmanuel is a tough cat and will put up a fight against whoever he faces. id give hatton more credit from beating augustus then collazo. anyone who comments on his losses needs to watch those fights. i remember a while back when i said olivera would beat him easy bc he has lost so many times, and a bunch of ppl jumpred on me. so i went out, dl'd a bunch of his fights and found out they were right. hes a good boxer, can take a punch, and gets robbed more then anyone else in the business

It's just funny that of all fights that he didn't see that he could have spoken on, he picked the one that was one of the worst robberies in the last 5 years.

Teddy Atlas was livid, and an investigation into the commission in Michigan ensued.

Lets not read too much into fight for 50K statement. This chap is making this offer simply because he has nothing to lose. I'd do the same if I were in his shoes. If he does well against Hatton but loses, his stock would then rise and he will get better fights. If he beats Hatton, the 900k or so he lost will then be easily recouped (just look at Baldamir (sp). If he gets beaten, he just goes back to the same old routine, but 50k richer.
