Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Holds Top Tax Spot, By Far, In The Philippines

Manila - WBO welterweight Manny Pacquiao, who faces his biggest fight against unbeaten Floyd Mayweather, already holds top spot as the number one taxpayer in the Philippines, government records showed Saturday.

A list of top individual tax-payers for 2013, posted on the Bureau of Internal Revenue website, put the boxer-turned-congressman at number one with 163.84 million pesos ($3.72 million) in taxes paid.

This was about 64 percent higher than the second-highest taxpayer.

Internal revenue chief Kim Henares confirmed that Pacquiao topped the list but stressed that he still had a case pending over alleged non-payment of taxes earlier.

Wow .... That's really sad. Kinda makes sense now when you see a group of 30 following him around on a basketball court to watch him brick free throws.

I can't think of another country that a boxer would be their highest taxpayer.

If only they had some politicians in place that were "for the people" they might be in better shape... Maybe a congressman?

I was told manny will be fighting well into his early 40s...and likely will be the president of his country at that time...puppet-ing is not healthy for the pockets...i wont be surprised if these fights aren't televised..if so manny will be the 2nd fighter of the decade to still be fighting when he should be done in a row...even tho floyd should have won the award ijs...my source said he'd be buying a home in the hills and that came true...he'll be fighting for arum and racking up the losses or bad resume fight and then 40 plus he'll be doing shows for local promoters in asia as welll as the US...and ppl said floyd was the ****** one who would be broke
