Cotto has had multiple trainers. Well documented break from his uncle, the replacement in between, He then had Emmanuel Stewart, the Cuban guy and Freddie Roach.

As far as fighters claiming he's a diva, it was well documented Cotto was throwing a fit about the forcing Margarito to a catchweight for their Jr.MW rematch. Fight was in serious jeopardy of not happening.

Sergio Martinez claimed he was a diva and that he'd given in to all of Cotto's demands, yet Cotto still wouldn't sign.

Then we have both DLH and Canelo who claim the same thing from Cotto.

So yeah, I would think this history qualifies Cotto as being one of the biggest Diva's in boxing today.

It's leash by the way, and you do care who's running the show or you wouldn't have brought it up. He took less money to become the lineal MW champ and the first 4 division champ from PR, a fight he went into a 3-1 underdog against and because in his next fight it's not against an elite or well known fighter he's a diva. Waste your energy complaining about that all you want, it's reason like these why boxing is in the state is in.

HBO is going to make it happen.

He's had like bunch of trainers and got into a physical altercation with his uncle. What does that tell you? He's the type of person that gets mad and runs home with his ball. Does it make him a diva? Not necessarily but it just adds to the list of diva characteristics.

He's having a very public fight with Top Rank with lots of accusations flying, with both sides calling each other liars. Does it make Cotto a diva that he walked away from a verbal contract?

If floyd didn't fight pacquiao ODH would have NOT moved the date. Floyd would STILL be fighting on that same day.

No doubt the strategy was to take the May 2nd date and thats why they wanted to announce it early. Do you think Showtime would have put on Floyd vs Khan or Floyd vs Danny Garcia if Canelo/Cotto had already been announced on that date? I don't think so after two straight flops with Maidana. That was the strategy, to announce it early to take the date from Floyd vs anyone but Pacquaio. Cotto's ***** ass wouldn't sign and now he has no options but to fight Canelo as HBO is holding his feet to the fire.

Your right that's what they should do no point in putting on a tuneup if your not going to get Cotto-GGG or Cotto-Canelo in return but I'm sure HBO isn't going to just let Canelo fight low level contenders on there network neither HBO is in the business of putting on the best fights especially with this PBC thing going there time is running out.

PBC definitely putting pressure on HBO, if they start poaching fights in the future it's going to get interesting.

It's too bad Cotto signed with Jayz because I think even a tune up on CBS or NBC would do monster ratings. I'm talking north of 6 million. Only Cotto/Canelo/Floyd/May could do that.

PBC would have probably paid Cotto a good 3 million for that tune up, I mean that mandatory is only getting peanuts anyways.

But there is no denying the fight was in jeopardy of not happening because of Cotto's diva like demands. Same with Martinez.

Yep I agree that would have been great but I guess roc threw more money at him as long as Cotto fight Canelo im happy that fight makes too much sense not to make.
