Hopefully cotto stops ducking canelo and we get to see that fight made too. Hopefully pacquiao unifies all the titles this year too, that would be pretty epic if all this falls into place
I think this is going to be a good year and can be a great year in boxing). We already have Maywather/Pacquaio. If Stevenson/Kovalev happens and they add Cotto/Alvarez and Rigondeaux vs one of the other champions in his division, it will be a great year.

      They will lose.
As for Duva, she's currently renegotiating their deal with HBO, so we'll see what they do with that.

Also their IBF mandatory is up in the air... but the deal could always be for later in the year rather than the summer/early fall.... which would let Kov take out Najib quickly
On a personal level you'd have to think the last thing Duva wants is to put Kovalev on a Haymon show on NBC, that would really stick in her craw.

you are exactly right. only if cotto and canelo would have clashed this year too. great matchup that are finally happening. Would love to see mares back in there with gonzales. for a crack at his belt back.

"That was an excellent strategy by Kathy Duva" (president of Main Events and Kovalev's promoter), Michel commented. "Adonis is now obligated to face Kovalev in a unification bout, guaranteeing a simple process without long, unnecessary bargaining. Our champion won't back down, the countdown has just started."

Hahaha, they didn't duck!... But the pimp in now obligated to face Kovalev...

HBO and NBC should come to terms and both air the fight... HBO also has a solid Canadian public...

Stevenson says that Kovalev ran away to HBO when he was the HBO fighter who ran over to Showtime.....smh, what a coward.

No. He said B-Hop ran away to HBO... But Stevenson didn't answer the phone and B-Hop had to call Duva with 36 prior to IBF stipping him... B-Hop vs Kovalev was settled in less than 24 hours...

How though? one would have to have delayed coverage

The fight is big enough for HBO and NBC to proceed the same way HBO and SHO did in the Floyd-Pac case...
... In addition, Canadians use to turn these kind of fights into PPVs...
