I am not a Tyson fan I think he was overrated, but he's not one dimisional like Tua.All Tua can do is keep coming forward looking for the ko and get outboxed and loses a decision or land that huge left hook.Tyson can box and slug something Tua can't.

If I had to compare his style with someone it would be Joe Frazier and still I would say that Frazier could do more things in the ring than Tua.

the reason i say this is because when i was watching tua fight ruiz, he was using tyson-like head movement and footwork as well.

i read that he says he is more like some other fighters (forgot who) and i agreed about the fighters he mentioned. people see his build and say he is like tyson but when you know who he was actually trying to fight like, it shows a little more.. eh my opinion

Tua may have harder 1 punch power than Tyson did, but Tua definatly doesnt have the hand speed, the combos, or the punch inventory as Tyson did. Both guys have shown a pretty sturdy chin however, just watch how many power shots Tyson took against Lewis, and he probably could've still beat the count if he wanted to, if my memory is correct.

I think the case can be made he does.

Lets also keep in mind though, he's a short fella much like Tyson....so their punching range and style is suited to their stature.

NO NO AND NO !!! i hate that people do this tyson does not fight like tua, frazier or marciano they were sluggers yes but not the same Dempsey i cant really say have not seen enough film on him
Tyson was a first, he was an enigma no fighter had the same speed and power with the [peek a boo] style he had .Floyd Patterson trained by the same man was similar speed good power, but also was not the same
Tyson was able to walk straight in dodge and duck under jabs like no other fighter and at his best could take one hell of a punch ....something Patterson could not do ...Tua comes straight in hits hard and thats about it.. it's a ko or nothing ...Frazier was very close only thing Tyson hass on him is speed and maybe defence....Marciano just walked over his opponents had no defence and little speed compared with Tyson ...

Tyson was a better operator, he had the jab, the movement, he had the fundamentals, something Tua never had, i'd say Tua's left hook, when it connected fully, was harder than Tysons though. Tua just lacked the skills Tyson had, to be able to back up that great chin, great power and great heart.
