Anyone who follows the sport of boxing should know that he was stripped and is basically out of the game due to his legal and psychological problems. It was reported in depth on every boxing site on the net and most regular news outlets when he went nuts at a MLK Day parade and started waving a gun around.

Someone should tell the IBF to update their rankings on their web site, however, as they still have him listed as MW Champion.

Little Rock boxer Jermain Taylor has been stripped of his International Boxing Federation middleweight title belt, IBF championship chairman Lindsey E. Tucker said Friday.

Tucker told the Arkansas ********-Gazette that the IBF's board of directors voted unanimously to strip Taylor of the title he regained last October because it decided Taylor's current legal troubles would keep him from staging a mandatory defense of his title.

Tucker said Taylor was required to defend his title by April 7 and that the vote was held by eight of the 11 board members.

"Evidently he isn't going to be able to defend his title in the time frame," Tucker said. "It looks like he won't be able to get out for awhile."

Taylor, 36, is currently in custody after receiving last month a court-ordered mental examinations that includes brain scans.

The exam is to determine whether Taylor is competent to stand trial on five counts of aggravated assault and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor stemming from his Jan. 19 arrest during Little Rock's Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade.

Taylor regained his IBF middleweight title after beating Sam Soliman by unanimous decision Oct. 8 in Biloxi, Miss. He was scheduled to defend his title Feb. 6 against Sergio Mora in Biloxi, Miss., but the fight was called off after Taylor's trainer, Pat Burns, said he broke a rib during training.
