    Sauerland criticizes Wlad Klitschko!

    Sauerland criticizes Klitschko!

Promoter Wilfried Sauerland, who with K2 is co-promoting the Wladimir Klitschko against Chris Byrd IBF heavyweight title fight on April 22, has criticized the work habits of Klitschko, stating to the BILD, "Wladimir is not a boxer with his whole heart. For him boxing is not a passion, but a job -- and a job that he's not always so terribly glad to have....if he wants to play an exceptional role in the sport, he may not only concentrate fully on the job two months before a fight. He must do it ten months out of the year." And if Klitschko defeats Byrd as expected, Sauerland stated Wlad will be "simply one of four titleholders."

    Well.

When you're a heavyweight who's already fought 50 fights against some serious opponents....I really could see how someone would get burnt out.

A win over Byrd fixes that however, and I don't see why he'd say that considering he just beat an undefeated wrecking ball.

    Promo Tactics.

Maybe, but I do think that there is truth in what hes saying.

Physically, Wlad always shows up in top notch shape for fights, are you sure you arent just hoping there is truth to what he's saying?

          Perhaps.

Only time will tell if his supposed "training habits" affect him in the ring. As it stands....that's one person's opinion and I've read plenty of releases from Steward.

According to him, Wlad trains his ass off sparring....and spars as much as anyone in his stable.

          It's mostly hear say.

if he doesn't train seriously than he is a genetic marvel, well actually he is. Tyson always looks in shape in the ring, that doesn't mean he trains his ass off. some guys are cut no matter what they do

Well I know even if Wlad is not at his best he will still destroy Byrd. When I read interviews with Wlad and his brother, I just get the feeling that they view boxing as a job, and they would rather be doing other things with their lives.

And u have to listen to Sauderlands comment because he is MUCH closer to the situation than anyone posting on this board.

Right and Steward is much closer to the situation than "Sauderland" is. He's merely an obsecure promoter trying to make a name for himself.

Conflicting points of view, except I'll take Manny's word over his.
