first thing that came to my mind after that rd was " damn, those neck crunches really do the trick!"
i still think floyd mosley second round is strange

Nothing strange about it
He landed a huge shot, rocked him, Floyd survived, recovered and adjusted.Comment

Mosley more than 15 yrs in boxing suddenly don't know what to do when he hurt Floyd? reeks
He was not suppose to hurt Floyd it is not in the script, you could see the look of "oh shyt don't you go sleeping on me Floyd or i am toast" on his face when he landed that shot.Last edited by Rath; 03-24-2015, 05:29 AM.Comment

Seem like Shane wasted a ton of energy landing that big right hand....and after that didnt know what da fck to do.....LOLComment

There goes the "he adjusted" and the opponent "gassed out" cliche again. as if those who gassed out lost the fight by exhaustion
As if Floyd fights differently in every fight.
Floyd fought different styles of opponents, tell me which fight Floyd fought differently than his other fight.Comment

Corrales compared to Baldomir lol... I forgot you aren't a boxing fan and just a fan of Manny Pacquiao lol. There goes the "he adjusted" and the opponent "gassed out" cliche again. as if those who gassed out lost the fight by exhaustion

hurt? sure. defenseless? get your head out of your ass, bro. floyd was hurt but he was far from defenseless, mayweather on wobbly legs still has better defense than most fighters when they are completely fine.
if you are going to describe floyd ****ing mayweather as "defenseless" you have no business calling anyone an idiot.
attempting to blind and distract him to set up heavier shots. its a very basic thing to do which is also why it didn't work, floyd knew what he was doing and didnt bite on the feint.
floyd always comes back strong when someone hurts or just stuns him. against both corley and judah he spent most of the remaining fight walking them down and beating them up. dropping corley like 39 times and nearly stopping both. floyd is always in tremendous shape, at the end of the round he had recovered.
he didnt have the legs to run, he was smart enough to realize shane would track him down easily and take advantage of his poor balance to nail him with big shots.
leaning into mosley allowed him to use shane to maintain his balance while smothering mosleys punches. shane needs space to be effective with power punches, up close he always just throws shoeshine combinations.
when you are hurt you are generally more safe too close than too far away, if you are too far away they can just step into range since you dont have the legs to maintain that distance. in close you can grab hold and smother, thats why fighters are taught to clinch when they are hurt.
those body punches were hard. power is generated by pivoting and turning into them from the hip and shoulder, not by winding up on wide shots your opponent can see from a mile away. on top of that damage is done not by landing massive punches, but by landing accurate, well timed punches your opponent doesnt see.
floyds body shots were short, hard, well timed, accurate and deadly. they hurt shane and took the energy out of him. once you hurt someone to the body all you have to do is keep touching them downstairs and they will struggle to get their wind back, floyd did this very well.
but more importantly he countered very well, making shane hesitant to let his hands go in general. it was more confusion than fatigue imo, although it was a combination of both.
first of all there is no such thing as 10oz pillow gloves. people who say there is are either complaining or ignorant. most people around here who keep rambling about pillow gloves never laced up a pair in their life.
all that said, no. shane was wearing grants.Last edited by #1Assassin; 03-24-2015, 08:11 AM.Comment
