Was Cotto weight drained when he fought Pacquiao?

Absolutely not.
He was 1 pound lighter than his previous fight and frequently weighed in 146 against other welterweights, it's a lame excuse used by Pacquiao detractors.
He had a 3 month training camp too, and was fast as he was at a low bodyfat and looked in really good shape he had a nutritionist, conditioning coach, the lot.Comment

I don't Cotto was drained for the fight, he just didn't have the tools to deal with someone like Pacquiao. Cotto doesn't control distnance, doesn't feint and doesn't nearly move his head enough. Cotto's better punches are wide ones (left hook in particular) and Pacquiao finds it harder to deal with straight punches. The style was just all wrong for Cotto.
The only thing I take issue with, is the notion that if "he didn't like it, he shouldn't have signed the contract". Cotto was behind the "8 ball" where if he didn't defend against Pacquiao, he would be stripped of the WBO title, and to defend it, he had to do it at 145lbs. That was as wrong as the day is long.Comment
