What planet is Anna Riva from? This is the pros, not the amateurs. The amateurs can spout off about ethics and role models. Not now. This is for money, blood, honor..in that order. Beterbiev needs to pay his dues and work his way up the ranks before he is even on the waiting list.Comment

I think for pros Artur is too green still. Another handful of fights while stepping up comp is good, if they fight sooner rather than later Id pick Sergey, but Beterbiev will give him hell.Comment

Kovalev vs Beterbiev will happen. Kovalev will destroy Beterbiev.
Kovalev vs Stevenson will probably never happen. If the fight happens, Kovalev will MURDER the piece of shit coward Stevenson.Comment

Kovalev gave a significant amount of money (at that time in his career) to Roman Simakov's family - something he did not have to do, so yes, he did show remorse. From Wiki, "Kovalev went to church with his wife Natalia to pray for Simakov while he was in a coma. He bought airline tickets for Simakov's parents to get from Kemerovo to Ekaterinburg where the fight was held.[5][better source needed] After Simakov died, Kovalev apologized to Simakov's parents and promised them the prize money from his next fight.[6]" Please get your facts correct on a tragedy such as Simakov's death. Plus Sergey refuses to discuss the fight and Simikov's death. To be clear, Kovalev isn't seeking to use the media in any way to minimize what happened in the fight. If you care to watch it, the fight is on YouTube.Last edited by Mr.Daddy; 03-22-2015, 07:27 PM.Comment

Thanks for posting this; I'd never seen it before. This makes it quite clear that Sergey showed great remorse at Simikov's death. He showed a lot of remorse.
This past Monday, two highly regarded Russian light heavyweights collided in an important cross-roader in Ekaterinburg under GT&KP Promotions. One of them, undefeated America-based puncher Sergey Kovalev (17-0-1, 15 KOs) escaped a brutal affair relatively unmarked – at least visibly – with a minor belt around his waist and his unbeaten record intact.
He has also talked a lot since about how that fight changed his approach in the ring.Comment
