Who will GGG fight that will send him into the PPV stratosphere? I guess Cotto must be a bigger star than I gave him credit for, if the boxing world is in shambles because he is holding a MW belt that belongs to the future of boxing 32 years old GGG. You guys calling for Cotto to just FedEx the belt to GGG are pitiful atleast ask for the guy to fight for it, it's Cotto's belt and not once did he say he will never fight GGG. The only time he came close to saying something like that he said "I will do what is best for Miguel Cotto's career and if that means fight GGG then we will fight him".

I was being a little dramatic with the boxing will be well line, lol. But yeah, it makes no sense for Cotto to fight GGG. He will get his ass beat worse than any beatings hes gotten in his career. We dont need to hear Cotto say "I will not fight GGG" to know he isnt gonna fight him. Loefler just said he contacted Cottos camp about a fight now or in the future and he got zero response. Its not rocket science.

At worse case, its very very unlikely. GGG should fight a Lemieux or Quillin for the vacant belt, which would be good matchups.

Doesn't sound like someone who wants to fight Golovkin does it? There is no shame in admitting that GGG is too much for him. No shame in admitting that he is not a real middleweight and does not belong in that division.

But there is a lot of shame in trying to hold on to a belt you have no intention of defending against the best opponent in the division.

The only reason Cotto hold the WBC tittle is because he want to secure the A-side in a fight against Canelo. Now that he is going to fight K9 and if he beat K9 he is going to face Canelo with a tittle, everything is a business issue and Miguel Cotto has been one of the smartest boxers in terms of business.

If we are going to get technical, what he said was his career won't be dictated by any sanctioning body not GGG. And yes he did say if he decides not to fight GGG he can have the belt. That sounds like a man that is in charge of his career and won't take any **** from a sanctioning body. He also said as we all well know these days a title does not make a boxer a star (now I'm paraphrasing).

Cotto is not fighting a genuine middleweight at 160, not now, not ever. He will fight his voluntary and then vacate the titles or be stripped. He has no other options. He cannot defend against anyone other than GGG once his voluntary is done. People who continue to claim that he will be able to fight Floyd or Canelo or Manny for the MW title after his voluntary are, to be very blunt, fools, idiots or simply delusional.

Do you really think the WBC wouldn't sanction a fight between Cotto and mayweather/Canelo over GGG. Wbc is about money, the bigger the fight the higher the sanctioning fee, also higher visibility. GGG would play nice and take a step aside fee and agreement, he wants the big fights so he would play ball. This is how boxing has worked for over a century.

Quilin a Haymon fighter, Lemieux is GB's most recent acquisition I doubt Oscar puts him in the ring against GGG right off the back. GB will milk Lemieux a little before he meets GGG if he remains undefeated.

Cotto has a better chance to upset GGG then anyone GGG has fought. Not one of GGG' s opponents compares to Cotto. Not saying Cotto would win. Gaby already said he would contact Tom Loeffler after Cotto completes his voluntary, so Loeffler needs to wait in line.

I realize the way Cotto fans stan for him can be downright laughable at times, but you guys are too hard on the man. His career is pretty much fin and he's making some money and going out how he wants. This sport uses people up, and he doesn't want to be fed to the younger generation. This his thing.
