Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Coach: If Manny is in Top Shape, He'll KO Floyd

Marvin Somodio, an assistant trainer to Hall-of-Fame coach Freddie Roach, is helping prepare WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao for the upcoming fight with WBC/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

There are often occasions where Somodio has to work the corner as head trainer when Roach has a scheduling conflict with multiple fighters seeing action on the same day. If Pacquiao is in the same shape that he was for last year's six knockdown win over Chris Algieri, Somodio feels the Filipino boxer is capable of scoring a knockout win.

I can't see a ko for either guy

Both have great chins and Floyd has great defence

And Floyd doesn't have great power

The most realistic situation is Floyd quitting on the stool.

Fight won't happen coz Floyd will either duck by faking an injury or fail the blood test. Probably the latter as su****iously revealed by the fact that he has refused to agree to the $5 million penalty.

I know someone who works closely with the Pac camp and they said that he dropped a guy today in sparring. Word is Roach is constantly berating Pac, saying that he doesn't have the hunger anymore and it takes hunger to beat Floyd.

Possibly. Roach admitted getting floored by a Pac "wayward" punch.
