Mosley was 1-1-1 in his last fight with Pacquaio....also didn't have an impressive showing in years
Cotto....got beatdown by Margo and barely beat Clottey, then Manny decides to fight him....that was no ordinary drubbing Cotto took from Cheato
Hatton.....hadn't looked impressive in long time....getting rocked by fringe 140 contender Juan Lazcano, beat average Malignaggi, and got KTFO by Mayweather before those average showings.
Morales.....they refused to let him have a catchweight in fight 2 even though he won the first fight. Zahir Raheem beat him at 135 so they knew he couldn't make 130 anymore healthy and be effective.
Most of Pacquaio's elite competition were coming off of bad showings, losses, or career changing type losses when he faces them.....notice the pattern
the names sound great on your record, but you have to take in account when he fights these guys. that's smoke and mirror type stuff
I never saw his run as some unseen spectacle, although impressive...Jimmy McClarnin(started at 112), Kid Gavilan (118), duran(low 120s), etc all started at low weights and regularly beat world class guys above welterweight and actually won the one, true welterweight title and beat middleweights. He has been a welter for a longtime and this is his first time fighting the number one welterweight.
