Comments Thread For: Klitschko Trainer Wants Wilder and Fury Fight Next

James Ali Bashir, assistant trainer to WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, would love to see his fighter face WBC champion Deontay Wilder or top rated contender Tyson Fury next.

Wladimir will first defend his title next month at Madison Square Garden in New York City, when he goes up against undefeated Bryant Jennings.

Wilder is expected to return in the summer and Fury is likely going to sit back and enforce his WBO mandatory position against the Klitschko-Jennings winner. Wilder may not be ready for another fight or two, but Fury is ready to face Klitschko right now.

Well Glazkov is the mandatory now after his insomnia treatment performance against Cunningham. Money is on Wladimir fighting that bum next.

I'm not interested in Wlad fighting Jennings or Glazkov, TBH. The only guys that I would like to see Wlad fight are Fury and Wilder, especially Wilder, there is no point to Wlad fighting anyone else in the division.

I agree. he should fight fury then wilder and retire before he loses it. hes already past his prime so needn't take any ordinary fighters

If he wants to fight another bum, pick up an easy KO win back in Germany?

            Go with Glazkov or Fury

If he wants an actually challenge for once, A serious fight in New York City?

            Go with Deontay Wilder.

im not totally convinced wilder is any bigger a threat than fury. of course he has more power than fury but I think fury would have the better chance of getting into the later rounds. I just think wlad would catch wilder early and starch him

Funny thing is Wilder is probably the easiest match up. Klit already destroyed this guy like he was nothing when he sparred him. By all accounts by people who actually watched them spar Wilder got dropped several times with jabs and KO'd with a left hook. He's skinny as a rail, very questionable chin, can't fight on the inside to save his life, low workrate, he doesn't move well, throws amateurish wide flailing punches.. The guy is basically a poor mans 90s Shannon Briggs. It's going to look like Klit vs Austin.

Klit will probably end up asking for an extension from the WBO to fight his IBF mando Glazkov early or he will have his grudge match in Germany vs Briggs.
