The WBO probably made a mistake not joining together with the WBC, WBA and IBF.

Even when WBO is under the protection and tailored to Arum's needs, it is obvious that they would regret more in the future not joining the other organizations specially if special tournaments or events are organized together.

Its a mess.... just look at the WBC middleweights for example..... Tureano johnson holds a diamond belt, there for is in line for a shot... GGG has the interum belt... and heiland is ranked # 1

They make it up as they go along. It's not really about the diamond belt to the fans, it's about the mandatory spot.

well yeah, but I thought it was the WBC Silver title and not the Diamond that made a fighter mandatory

according to the WBC website for Light Heavy it lists Eleider Alvarez as the WBC silver champ

but yeah the WBC seemingly does make up crap as they go. I think the original mindset behind the Silver title was to replace Interim titles, but those still exist, so I guess WBC Silver is just another way, and turns out is interchangable with the WBC Diamond Belt

not that it matters a great deal but Tureano Johnson is actually the WBC Silver champ ... right from the site

I wish all the belts would go away period, but credit to the WBC for forcing unification. As far as the WBO is concerned, Kovalev makes his mandatories (unlike the WBO at WW), they can pipe down.

All the orgs are a joke and I do hope Haymon puts them out of business.
