Same goes for any title holder.

GGG is a small middle, 154lbs is a squeeze but he can do it, probably just as comfortably as Kovalev makes 175lbs.

Floyd should have vacated or been stripped a long time ago in reality.
I have no problem with GGG calling out Floyd if he feels he can make 154. Floyd is the biggest name in boxing and everybody wants to fight him...but let's keep it real here. Small MW or not he's still a lot bigger than Floyd and he could easily fight at 168 (something he has already done as an amteur).

Regarding making the weight comfortably. Kovalev been fighting as a LHW his entire pro career so making 175 has obviously never been a problem. GGG been a pro since 2006 and never went down to 154 so no matter what he says none of us know whether he'll make 154 in a healthy way.

I would love to see Floyd take risks and put himself in a situation where he wouldn't be the favorite and try to pull the upset....but I'm 99.9% sure Floyd will never fight GGG so he should just forget about the 154 division and say that he'll retire at 147 and only interested in fighting welterweights.

      The question is:
Why don't you want to see GGG & Ward? Cuz you completely ignored the fact that I posted that "GGG can go down to 154 & fight floyd but not fight ward at 168?"
Floyd - GGG is HUGE PPV.

Ward - GGG is barely HBO quality. No one gives a sht about Ward. The guy hasn't fought in a year and a half and no one knows when he will fight again. If he has two tune up fights, at the rate he is going it will be another two years before he will be available to fight GGG. By that time GGG will be one of the biggest names in the sport and Ward will be begging to get on the undercard of PBC events but only if they are in Oakland.

Just bring up how Floyd has moved up 5 weight classes and Golovkin is scared to death of moving up just 1.

            • I think GGG should focus on moving up rather than moving down and fighting a former super featherweight.

In order for Floyd to fight GGG at this point, GGG would have to be at Canelo, Pacquiao, Cotto, Chavez Jr status when it comes to drawing power. Besides I don't see how Floyd would get up to fight a guy who will be 25lbs heavier than him on fight night.

I know GGG doesn't care, he would fight anyone from 160 and below including guys like Roman Gonzalez, Terrence Crawford, Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, Saul Alvarez. The guy is a beast, 173lbs on fight night, got everyone from 147-154 shook and has ruled 160 easily. He doesn't play that ****. Seriously, Naoya Inoue can get it too.

He has so many nightmares of 168, the guy would desperately say he can make 126 to fight Nicholas Walters. Anything to avoid the big boys at 168, Ward, Froch, Dirrell, Hopkins(willing to fight GGG at 168).

                  • This is pure FCKERY from Golovkin. Why is he trying to pick on a welterweight? this match up is complete NON SENSE. Not to mention GGG hasn't even proved himself by defeating the very best at his weight class.

If there's one thing Floyd and his minions taughts us, its that dropping an lb is harder than going up a division. That's why Cotto was undefeated before Floyd, remember? This guy is willing to drop a full 6lbs and knock lineal champs block off. That's loads of p4p points for him, if this supposed champ steps up. You think he might?
