He wants Mayweather, Cotto, Canelo from 154. At 168 he only shows interest in Chavez Jr. Clearly just wants big money fights. It's okay, but his fans won't admit it. I have no problem with a fighter just wanting money, pro boxing is a tough job and i'm not letting anyone punch me in my face for a living unless i'm making 100s of thousands of dollars or millions either. So I get it, but his fans portray him as something else. What GGG and his team want (lots of money), is okay, what his fans are saying about him is a lie.
None of his fans deny that he wants a good payday to take any fight outside of his own division. In fact we have been trying to get the idiots around here to understand that for ages. This is exactly why he has little interest in a Ward fight, there is no money to make it worth the effort to fight at a higher weight class.

Nice to see that you have finally understood what many people have posted hundreds if not thousands of time on this and other boards. You can sleep better tonight now that you have finally learned something new to you. Your mother will be proud.

By the way... he wants Cotto from 160, not 154. Cotto holds a MW title and he should either defend it or vacate it.

      • It is quite simple for me.

If you are a champ at the weight, be prepared to defend against the best or you are a paper champ.

That goes for every world champion

        • I've downloaded Golovkin-Murray today and watched it. Golovkin looked considerably smaller than Murray. At the weigh-in GGG was at 158.9, so he IS not a big guy - absolutely truthful statement. Second observation - Murray is a very strong guy - possibly the second best middleweight. His supposed lack of punching power could have something to do with two debilitating body punches he endured in the 4th round. Guys tend to lose steam after being punched in the gut so brutally.

          • Once, if Floyd beats Pac, he needs tofight GGG at 160, none of this 154 business.

He needs to improve on beating a great little man like Pac, he needs a great big man now.

lol like he needed Cotto, Mosley and DLH back in the time so you would consider him an atg with the ALI and Robinson. (see my sig)

Get out of here, you have no credibility.

lol here we go again. One guy is a 5 division champ, he moved up many times to fight guys 15 to 20 poounds heavier than him. Beat a top 10 p4p undefeated in Corrales, beat #2 pfp in Marquez, #3 p4p in Mosley. Beat an undefeated Hatton and undefeated Alvarez (moved up in weight). Is going to fight the #2 p4p and atg in Pacquiao. This guy is a running chicken.

Now you have a one division 30 something champion who said would beat anybody from 168lbs and below but then refuse to fight Ward, call guys two division lower to get a huge payday, and this guy is a hero and a warrior.

                Only on boxingscene.

If Cotto fights GGG it wont be at 160. Middle weight is from 155-160. realistically, the fight would be made around 156.

GGG fans think GGG is a boxing god but when this dude steps up and fights an elite fighter, he'll be in big trouble. Once that power of his isn't working, then what? If he drops down to 154, Floyd would box circles around him and the haters will just say GGG was drained, that fight would make no sense.

                    ==========

If the fight is for MW belt, it should be held at MW limit. Of course both fighters can come in at any weight below. But to be considered a MW champion one can't enforce additional weight limits on his opponent. Otherwise it is just a catchweight and has no bearing on who is the champion in the traditional division.

                      This ^^^^

That fight makes no sense. GGG FLoyd at 154 is a lose lose situation for Floyd. If he loses haters will say he was never that good. If he wins haters will say GGG was drained and Floyd was too chicken to fight him at 160lbs. The only way for Floyd to get credit would be to move up at 160lbs, but GGG would be so huge the only way to win would be to stay on the outside and potshot his way to a UD, and then again the haters would say he was a coward and didgnt go toe-to-toe.

This fight just doesnt make any sense.
