I cant wait to hear mayweathers excuse of ducking ggg after he loses to pacquiao in may. Ggg already said he would move all the way down to 154 to accommodate mayweather Jr. Who will still hold all those Jr. Middleweight belts even after he loses to pacquiao. I bet they have rod salka on standby for September, contract already signed

They both are al haymon fighters so this girl gossip you just spewed is therefore null and void. Go fly a kite kid, this isn't the place for schoolyard girl gossip, real men dont do that

No fines no BS just put this kid Junior where he could make the weight. If he needs to bully smaller guys thats tough ****!
He can't box he can't train and needs guys that have limitations. He fought a good boxer in Sergio who can't punch at all at 160 and he got out boxed and the **** slapped out of him.
Don't know about anyone else but I won't waste my time watching this kid!
            Ray.
Nothing wrong with a catchweight in a non title fight.

It’s for that reason that their bout—which will air live on SHOWTIME from the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.—comes at a catchweight of 172 lb.

Popular belief suggests the weight comes at the demand of the bigger draw in the fight—Chavez Jr. There are elements of truth to that theory, but both fighters insist that meeting in the middle was the best course of action in making this fight happen.

Not enough. Make it 500K per lb. That is the only way Chavez Jr. will learn.

So you think that Golovkin could beat Mayweather at 154 ?

Why would you even be interested in watching Golovkin come in under 160?

He is obviously not a 154'lber, so what makes you think that Golovkin can even make 154 without being compromised ?

Is Golovkin at 154 the latest " reach " to dethrone Mayweather ?

jjsmyth, Golovkin would not beat Mayweather at 154.

Mayweather going to 160, is a better option, but highly unlikely.....
..... fakk compromised opponents or catchweights, they really suck lol

I doubt that Mayweather could beat Golovkin at 160.

                    Yes

Also, he has had last-minute weight renegotiations more than once.

The fight automatically becomes second-rate, or an exhibition bout.

                      * The best thing in boxing is divisional supremacy
                      * Catchweight fights do not count when considering divisional supremacy
                      * They therefore become second-rate, considering the big picture

They are fine for entertainment, but cannot be taken seriously.

If the fight is serious, why do they need a catchweight ?
