he has no other choice these networks wont mess around they either get the best fights or they wont renew contracts plus now haymon has literally no reason to protect fighters im sure there will be the prospect cards but nbc espn cbs etc wont want that bs they will want real deal matchups

Why would they care if they're getting paid to broadcast the fights?

            Hypocrites.

Go tell any fighter face to face that his title is not worth crap. Even some 14 year old who won his local tournament title. See the reaction you get. I will not tell a fighter he should not be proud of his accomplishments. If you do, you are a piece of *****.

By the way, the only title I consider a champion title is the Super or Full championship title of a division. The others are there only to give fans an idea of the line of succession of mandatory challengers.

lol your trying to hard no one has cared about titles for years and years already and ya if he gets enough fighters to make his own belts of course they will because it will be set up the ufc where u have to defend against the best. its almost laughable u guys holding a grudge on haymon just admit this is what we have always wanted its just u guys didnt want haymon to be the one running the show

I'm still on the fence regarding this PBC thing ... good to see ESPN added along with Spike/NBC/ABC

and while these TV deals might only benefit Haymon's large stable of boxers, people need to look at the bigger picture ... that March 6th NBC card was the first fight they aired in 30 years

I'd like the sport as a whole to do well, but realistically that won't happen, because not all fighters/weight divisions are as exciting and not everyone can be a star

hopefully PBC can put on compelling/interesting fights that'll keep the viewers coming back for more
No it wasn't. They aired Adamek v Cunningham 2 which pulled 3.6 million viewers, Fury vs Cunningham which pulled 1.7 million and a few other. CBS aired a card 2 years ago and ESPN have aired 2 HW world title recently.

              • IMO, PBC is on too many networks. PBC could work if marketed properly. Too many networks, too much confusion.

They need to build the brand, and feed the public predictably in a steady fashion while getting the public/casuals to get acquainted with the fighters.

Just don't see it working... Haymon not working with Top Rank, GBP, Roc, etc. will limit his options.

Too many networks, ...I doubt he can match up a steady flow of competitive fights for the AMOUNT of tv time/shows they have planned. If you don't put out a good product, it won't work long term.

HBO has been in the game for years and they aren't going anywhere.. ODLH/GBP won't sit on their @ss. You bet Oscar is competitive. I expect HBO to continue to put on good shows like they did this past year.

                • IMO...PBC should be on 2 networks max.
                  NBC and ESPN.

Put the best fights on NBC... and on ESPN, continue the tradition of ESPN FNF. Put the prospects, the youth, and up on comers on ESPN.

Put the big fights on NBC bi-monthly. And market those events heavily. That would work. I have a marketing background. And IMO, people(casuals) need to be fed the brand in chunks.

Too many networks just won't work.

                  • If Haymon can arrange enough quality matchups, a monthly card is doable. But I doubt he'd be able to sustain quality over time.

Haymon isn't selling a generic service, he's selling a *product*. And his product is unique, new, different, etc. than that of his competitors. He should be talking about it.

Maybe Al's not good on camera? OK, then give a print interview.

Either way, his product would be an even bigger hit with fans if he just let fans know he's listening to them, and communicated that (even just once in awhile) through the press.

A better question might be, do you see the CEO of Apple or Microsoft or GE or Ford Motor give interviews (answer: "yes, all the damn time!"). Why? Because they're always "pitching" their product to let the public know that the company listens to customers and will continue to strive for excellence, meet their needs, and satisfy their demands.
No, its pretty good analogy because it illustrates the ridiculous standard some are applying to watching boxing, a sport they allegedly love.

what is the difference in service between PBS and WCB/BAD on HBO or SCB on SHowtime?

was it a requirement for the inventors of the games/apps you use on your phone/tablet to discuss their product before you tried it? No, you either heard about it or stumbled on it. I don't see PBC being any different.

Maybe , maybe not. He chooses to isolate himself. The only people who care about this are those that are trying to create a "valid" reason for why they want this to fail rather than just admit their real reasons.

there are different styles used by equally successful business people. Agreed, those company CEO's pitch stuff all the time. On the flip side, the Koch brothers have products you use daily-paper towels, cleaning products, etc.-and they never do interviews. WHen was the last time you saw an interview with the heads of Wal Mart?

Haymon not being visible is nothing more than a smokescreen for the real reason(s) some want this to fail.
