    More details from Dan Rafael:

"Haymon, who is paying ESPN $16 million to air the 24 cards, with ESPN footing the bill for the production, also holds an option for six additional cards. Haymon also has to pay the fighter purses and the other expenses related to putting on an event."

"The deal with ESPN, which will retain the worldwide rights to the fights and editorial control over the broadcast"

"While FNF had a studio portion of the show each week to cover the latest boxing news, there will not be a studio element on the PBC shows. However, Kweder said there will be time in the broadcast to go over the news of the week from the site of each card."

He also recaps some of the other TV deals:

    NBC/NBCSN: 40 shows through 2016
CBS at least eight shows this year in a multiyear deal
Spike TV: at least 33 monthly shows through 2017
Bounce TV: monthly prospect-oriented cards beginning in July on the network Haymon helped found in 2011

Most of these are multi-year deals.

Damn. Initial total is $36 mill of time buy slots. That's a lot of investors dough up front!

Lets just hope the fights that are put on are fights people WANT to see and not some of those garbage fights like last friday.

Hopefully during this time we get to see some quality fights and the actual titles recognized.
The deal gives Haymon an option for more fights...so I guess we'll be able to tell how well this time buy is going by whether or not Haymon exercises the option down the road.

I don't care about Floyd or what color Haymon's skin is. Monopolies are never good. What Haymon is attempting will not help the sport, it will destroy the sport as we have always known it. Fighters who are now fighting for over inflated purses will eventually be fighting for slave wages if this is to have any chance of succeeding. Do people honestly think Haymon and his investors, whoever they might be, can continue to lose millions of dollars each and every show they put on? Someone will have to pay the price, and that will be the fighters. And the fans will be getting crap fights one after the other. Haymon's stable, as large as it may be, does not have the talent to provide quality fights on that number of broadcasts per year. In fact, boxing as a whole does not have the talent to put on that many quality fights per year.

I feel sorry for everyone who thinks they will be getting competitive, quality matches out of this. If you enjoy the garbage Haymon will be putting on, then that is all you deserve. Some of us expect better.

I love the move!!!! Boxing is making a comeback for the casuals!!

                Get hyped!!!

How can you not love Atlas? One of the few true boxing wise men left, he is great at commentating, better than anyone on HBO or Showtime, and more credibility too.

How do you know how a fight will play out before seeing it?

Most boxing fans want Al to put on either the best possible fights or want to see the fights turn out better than they appear on paper.

You want him to put on bad matches so this fails or you want the fights to suck solely because you have made up in your mind that he is plotting a takeover to form a monopoly, even though there is no evidence to support this.

Its beginning to look like you are trying to hide the real reasons you want this to fail.

Right. I still understand where the profit comes in.

Within 5 years boxing will be bigger than the World Cup, the Olympics and the Super Bowl combined. All because of Al Haymon, loyal friend of the boxing fan.
