  • Comments Thread For: Nacho: People Going Ticket Crazy Because of Pacquiao

Mexican trainer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain, who trains numerous fighters like Juan Manuel Marquez, Jhonny Gonzalez and Rey Vargas, says fans are going crazy to see the explosive match on May 2nd, because of the exciting style of Manny Pacquiao and not necessarily because of the style of Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Nacho picks Mayweather to beat Pacquiao, but he prefers to watch the crowd pleasing style of the Filipino superstar. Nacho went up against Pacquiao on four occasions with Juan Manuel Marquez and he was in Oscar De La Hoya's corner when he faced Pacquiao. He also worked Marquez's corner once against Mayweather.

Yeah the fact the both are two of the greatest fighters of this era probably has nothing to do with it. Pacquiao is the one selling the tickets

Hmm, that's peculiar. Wonder why Pac's PPV numbers don't reflect Nacho's opinion?

The most amazing thing about Floyd is that he's sold as well as he has being as boring as he is in the ring. Do people really care that much about him to pay to see him lose?

Nacho mentioned nothing about PPV numbers and I think most objective people know the reason why this fight is so huge has nothing to do with Floyd or Manny's PPV sales histories.

Just that fact that Floyd is in it meant that I had 0 interest in attending and think it will be a big disappointment so I guess he's right.

No, but he's done a great job of staying on TMZ with his money/cars/legal woes and making himself publicly visible.

A ton of the people at big Vegas fights do not follow boxing at all and just go by name recognition.

People just love to hate Mayweather. When you're the best it comes with the territory.
