Sergio Mora lost to Abby Han, I don't know what you saw in him in the past but at this point he's 34 year old KO fodder for Golovkin.

Yet you'll defend to the death the toad who actually has Rod Salka on his resume and can't even make weight for his fights.

I never understood the fascination with the Lara fight, he's a JMW who has struggled with slow pressure fighters like Angulo and even non-pressure fighters like Canelo.

Better name than Monroe Jr. absolutely, harder fight to make? most likely, and Lara doesn't bring so much to the table that he's worth jumping through those hoops for.

But are we going act like Golovkin's team is scared of Lara and ducking the JMW? in terms of the match-up I can't see any foundation for it.

Apparently, they won't approve Lara. Who is the real problem? Lara or Al Haymon? If Lara is, then the Quillin fight could get made and only Peter it at fault if it doesn't. If Haymon is, then this fight seems improbable, regardless if Quillin wants it or not.
If it was for a unification or one of those guys was GGG's mandatory and they really wanted the fight then yes. GGG was not going to drop the WBA belt when Fletcher was mando even if HBO didn't pick that fight up. He wants to unify the division and has HBO's support. Lara was not on their radar back in Feb last year when he started talking because Lara was still at 154(not a unification or mandatory defense at 160) and still with Haymon.
One of those guys just walking over to HBO and getting a fight? I doubt it. Haymon is paying money out of his own pocket for his guys to fight on other networks. Remember the fights that his guys were in on Showtime last year? Haymon didn't give Showtime any more than he had to after Schaefer was booted from GBP because the NBC deal was in the works.
Lara would have to move up to 160(which he said on video that he doesn't plan to do). That's why I have constantly brought up Jacobs(stablemate) or Cotto(RocNation) for Lara. I doubt it would be Cotto because he is with RN now. Remember Quillin dumping his belt rather than fight Korobov on a RN card on HBO?
A win vs either one of those guys would put him in position to get this fight that people think he wants.
What does Quillin bring to the table if he doesn't beat Andy Lee? If Quillin wins that fight, there is still Billy Joe Saunders next in line for the WBO belt. 2 fights pretty much wraps up 2015 for Quillin. Even then, Quillin would have to want the fight, which he hasn't shown any interest in.
Haymon fighter Gary Russell Jr fought Lomachenko. The fight was on Showtime because GBP/Haymon won the bid. Vanes vs Lara was a purse bid situation that GBP won and the fight was on HBO when Haymon managed fighters were still fighting on HBO. It has happened before, but since the rift, Haymon fighters haven't been fighting on HBO just because they want to. Edwin Rodriguez fighting Andre Ward on HBO happened because HBO wouldn't approve Truax, Kashtanov or Sartision for Ward and E-Rod had just recently signed with Haymon.
It isn't as simple as one of those Haymon fighters walking in and getting a fight on HBO.
Why do I have to explain this?

        Lol

Let's be real-vs ggg, guys who aren't specialised movers end up reverting to moving and find themselves on the ropes .

Of the names in the short list,Turreano Johnson would have been a better fight because he would have tried to push ggg back.

Of course ggg is absolutely loved in nsb and people are excited about seeing willie Monroe being fed to the lions.

I wanna see a fight which I'm unsure about the outcome. This isn't it.

As far as Lara is concerned I couldn't care less about seeing him fight. Don't like his style. He ran vs Canelo. Imagine what he would do vs ggg.
People want the Tureano fight because he is cool on twitter.
He will have 2 more chances this year to get the fight

          i really hope you're trolling
As far as Hopkins and making 168 is concerned, yea , he can make it easily.

He weighed in around 172.5 vs shumy and murat after having porridge on the morning of the weigh ins.

In recent years, Hopkins has lost muscle definition. This is what happens when you start approaching 50 years of age. Bhop is more of a super middleweight than a light heavyweight now.

Of this there is very little doubt in my mind.

          • Golovkin just over 2 years in the states and already a myth, the fighter that generates more hype and threads than even Mayweather and Pacquiao nowadays on this forum. Specially his haters thinking day and night how to downplay his achievements or question his team's decisions.

First of all, GGG is a fighter and he is not like a Canelo who is demanding who he can fight, Canelo is one of the few boxers out there who can do that because he has a whole country behind him. GGG is a humble guy who lets his team do the politics and he is doing the work in the ring. GGG keeps saying in every interview that his main focus is 160, not 154 and not 168, yet. He would move up for a PPV fight though, which is reasonable. Lara hasn't fought at MW not even once and he clearly stated in an interview that he doesn't plan to move up. Just because Lara is a twitter warrior that trashtalks alot there, how can you say he offically called out GGG? Didn't he just call out a 147 pounder in Keith Thurman too? Lara is with Haymon, and it was stated several times that Lara is not approved by HBO, probably because of Haymon and because he is fighting at a different weight class and doesn't even want to move up in weight.

Ok whatever - Lara "called out" GGG by typing a little tweet in your sense? Did they make an offer to K2, did someone call Loeffler?

Or does GGG have to check Twitter from all boxers around the clock to see if someone is mentioning his name and then send make an official statement on boxingscene why they are not fighting that dude in the next couple weeks? Lara got bodied by the plodder Angulo, fought a dreadful fight to a draw against Martirosyan, but of course GGG vs Lara thats the fight the fans want to see. Yes, the 7 GGG haters on NSB who spend the majority of their miserable lifes to find any tidbits of information to make GGG look bad and then they logg onto their Alt Accounts and circle jerk each other.

            Keep the threads coming though.

            • Every so often a fighter comes along that lives up to his hype. Golovkin is one of those guys.

He climbed so dominantly that hardly any of the top fighters of his division wanted anything to do with him. That's good... That's REAL good.

Usually when we talk about myths surrounding boxers, we are talking about boxers who are pumped up to be something they are not, or who achieved their careers under dubious circumstances.

With Gennady we see nothing but unrelenting destruction.

              Case closed.

How ridiculous this accusation was LOL

              • So because of one garbage fight, no one has ever ducked Gennady Golovkin? Come on, Dirk, it's not opinion that Golovkin was ducked by damn near the entire middleweight division, it's an easily researched fact. It's just as easy to look up how they've tried to make other fights at 168 that fell through. Not wanting to fight Andre Ward doesn't mean Golovkin's team has never tried to make good fights and it's all a myth.

You're looking for reasons to dismiss Golovkin, and you've done it before. I'm assuming it's only because of the morons on NSB who say ****** crap about him, and that's kind of a dumb reason.

They've pretty much left him alone otherwise but he loves to remind us he wants nothing to do with GGG at all times. You've seen those videos?
Exactly, Quillin ducked Golovkin multiple times when both of them were fighting on HBO. Not to mention he just had a damn video where he says he doesn't want to fight him until the fight is "Mayweather/Pacquiao big." He doesn't even pretend to want to fight Golovkin now, when the fight probably can't be made.

As far as Lara, Golovkin's team has tried to make that fight on HBO and had it rejected. Did they try this time? I don't know, but if not I imagine that is why. It's ****** to try and prop Lara up as if he's something he's not, anyway.

Golovkin isn't trying to avoid names as this thread suggests. He is asking for Cotto, the Monroe fight is just fine while we wait for bigger names. And as others say, why would he avoid the smaller Lara, all while being willing to fight Ward. Makes no sense.
