The red light indicating there was only 10 seconds left in the round was flashing before Steele even started counting. If the ref would've asked for Taylors gloves and told him to walk to him, like any good ref would, the bell would've rang before Chavez would have a chance to get any shots off because the round would have been over. Horrible refereeing by Steele that night.

to bad he didn't do that but he still cant give him a pass just because the round is ending . if a fighter does not respond YOU LOSE NO MATTER WHAT DURING A FIGHT. HBO made a good documentary making everyone feel sorry for Taylor but it was all bullcrap propaganda

Lou Duva even tried to get a different ref, but they wouldn't switch. He was up at 5, in the final round close to the bell, hard pill to swallow, when the fight cost him everything.
