he probabley says it because of his insecurities, floyd is pretty fragile mentally, sometimes he's in his own head and will take an insult from something where it couldn't be further from the truth

not sure how much it would effect him in the ring, dont think it will do much, but he also does get mad and wants to punish people, so maybe that's roach's plan, in the ring floyd a warrior but he's also not as disciplined as people think, marquez for instance is alot more disciplined with his gameplan than mayweather who will often deviate
