Lara vs Golovkin is more interesting. Lara has been in with most people at 154. I want to hear why that fight wasn't even pursued. Tom Loeffler said he'd be up for it after Golovkin beat Murray.
I know they tried the first time Lara called Golovkin out and HBO squashed it. I can't imagine the Alvarez fight changed their minds, but I'd like to know if Golovkin's management at least tried this time as well.

I mean, Willie Monroe Jr. is a bad fight for Golovkin. I understand why it's happening, but I'd still like to know they tried for something better.

Not surprising. Andrade wouldn't fight Korobov, he's not gonna fight Golovkin.

“This is how I picture me fighting Golovkin: I beat the Charlo brothers, right? I beat Lara. I beat Canelo. I might beat somebody else, no name, and then how ‘Mayweather and Pacquiao’ is should be ‘Demetrius Andrade and GGG,’ ” Andrade said. “That type of mega-fight, know what I’m saying? I’m not going to waste that now when we can fight for millions of dollars down the line.” [Click Here To Read More]

So: if he beats all these guys above he doesn't need to fight Golovkin -- who would be retired until beats them all...

that's reasonable, although i recall him calling out golovkin a while back as if he was ready for the fight now. if we can get andrade-lara made in the near future i'd love to see the winner take on triple g.

HBO said they wouldn't show haymon fighters and Lara is no longer with golden boy so I think there still banning haymon fighters

I understand his positioning, however he has to make himself more interesting before it becomes some sort of mega fight people care about.

It will not be on the May/Pac level. They've put in the work and have other things going for them (Pac's ventures and country following, May's antics and controversy. Not to mention stuff in the ring in regards to May's undefeated record, he took on tough competition early in his career and build up a following with big name fights. Pacman basically had a HOF ready career before moving up to 135 after his own fantastic 4 with Marquez, Barrera and Morales.

Boo Boo doesn't need to be controversial, but he needs some sort of angle to hold onto. GGG has his knockout power and skill that is an easy sell. Boo Boo just has a funky nick name...but he IS skilled. But if he wants a mega fight, it won't be May/Pac, but it could be Taylor/Pavlik-esque.

This fight won't ever reach Floyd Manny status...However I do understand his position is the same position GGG is taking against Ward....
