Bottom line, if Stevenson and Kovalev fight this year and Stevenson wins, nothing that happened from Feb 2014 on will truly matter. It will be a legit win over a top 10 p4p opponent. Of course, there will be posters that desperately cling to the past as a way to soothe their anger and diminish the win.

No, I didn't say anything like that that's why I wasn't on your initial list. My problem was with HBO giving both another tune up fight when it wasn't needed, thus allowing Stevenson to make the Haymon move. I didn't kill Stevenson for the move either.

I also stopped watching Stevenson yet I have watched all Kov's fights since then, even the Caparello one which I thought was as bad as danny/slake in that neither could win.

That said, be as mad as you want at Stevenson not fighting Kov and getting paid for these BS fights. I'm cool with that.

kovalev fought hopkins for like $500k(?) and likely would have fought stevenson for around the same. just now he fought pascal for like $3.25m and will expect more against stevenson

if it becomes a point of contention in negotiations, stevenson should be blamed for the fight not happening again if he refuses to accept 50% or less. kovalev is the bigger draw and his highest purse is higher than stevenson's highest purse

HBO gave them another tune-up fight at the request of Stevenson's side under the guise that they would fight Kovalev next
