Comments Thread For: Kovalev’s Promoter Open to Pascal Rematch, But Not Yet

This actually puzzles me. Look at GGG and Kovalev. Krusher came by later. Yet he has 3 belts and hunting for the 4th, fought three name fighters in Cleverly, Hopkins and Pascal. While GGG enjoys similar hype, he is nowhere near that kind of achievement. He still only has one belt, hasn't had a single name opponent and it doesn't look like he is even near a big fight. What's wrong? Is this all down to different landscape at 160 and 175? Or do their promoters and managers do something different?

Kovalev has been lucky that title holders were willing to face him and that Hopkins held two titles when they met. The title situation at MW is much more fluid with three other titles left to win, two of them are currently at stake in other fights and the third is being held hostage by a JrMW who doesn't have the balls to defend it against GGG.
