If people don't have to pay to watch it, boxing will be big again. Simple as that.

Imo it goes a lot deeper than that. If boxing was shown live on basic cable or "free" tv where you live I still think it would turn away fans because of boring matchups, too much confusion over who the real champ is and bad refs and bad judges. There's a lot internally that has to be fixed in boxing.

It will never become a mainstream sport again. Another fighter died this weekend due to injuries received in the ring and Jermaine Taylor's recent problems have also shed a bad light on the sport. Even Football is under scrutiny due to brain injuries as is hockey. No overly violent contact sport will become mainstream again due to this.

Just needs more exposure. Regardless of all the problems you listed. No exposure is the biggest.

          PBC is fixing that.

Like I said before it could be live on basic cable hell they could put a fight on every weekend on basic cable and it would still run into the same old crap of terrible and boring matchups and horrible judges. The only way to prevent that is hope 1 guy crushes the other even if it's a poor matchup mainstream would rather watch a beat down than a boring UD.

It is really not a hard to figure out...

PERSONALITY! If the Fighter doesn't have it then HIS PROMOTER MUST HAVE IT! DON KING is a crook piece of **** but Don King sold the sport of boxing to the Casual Fans Like No Other!

Boxing lack fighters with Natural Charisma and the Promoters lack Charisma as well. Boxing Press Conferences use to be fun with Don King but now...THEY SUCK!

Personality might be looked down upon in other Countries but here in the US if you have personality you can make A LOT OF $$$.

Arum and Mayweather are the last Promoter and Fighter that understand how to SELL FIGHTS. After them, not really sure what boxing will turn into. Fighters can't be afraid to become the Villain! Embrace the HATE and making a lot of Money off of it. Everybody can't be the GOOD GUY! Good Guys are ***in BORING! You can be the good guy if you have an entire country behind you and you want to be a great representation for that country on a global level. Pacquiao being a great guy MAKE SENSE, also GGG since he is putting Kazakhstan Boxing on the map.

You guys are talking damn In Ring Styles...you have to get me to tune in to SEE YOUR STYLE! Don King got people to tune in to see Tyson, then Tyson KEPT THEIR ATTENTION!

What were the numbers for PBC On Spike from Friday? I looked all over and couldn't find anything.

Based on previous Friday cable ratings, they will be out today around 1-2 pm PT.

America needs a Heavyweight Champion who fights often on free to watch TV shows, who is exciting and a brash talker.

Can Deontay Wilder be that man? I sure hope so.

Having the best fight the best and ridding itself of corrupt and/or incompetent judges would be the best 2 things it could do.

MMA does not have these two problems anywhere near as bad as boxing does, and they are a growing sport while boxing is decreasing in popularity.
