    Is Boxing Going Soft??

This weekend we had several "questionable" stoppages (at least many could claim that argument) more in what seems to be the trend in boxing now.

Good timed stoppages are good for the sport because they are preventing further damage to the athlete but now we are seeing refs too quick to the draw....itchy trigger fingers....THAT is not good for the sport...

here are the two latest examples.....what say you? wouldn't you have liked to see both Josesito and Pascal continue??

I don't think they were all that early with those stoppages because in both those situations the fights appeared done.

If the ref looks at a guy feeling his fight is done why go on? You don't let it go on for ****s and giggles.

Lopez hells yeah, since he's a warrior, and almost always gets back up to fight. As for pascal, hells no. The guy was lost, and taking bombs right to the head. But after the **** he's been talking about deserving a rematch, because it was stopped too early, and how he was waiting to KO kovalev,I think that pascal deserved to take a few more shots to the head. And yes,I hate when boxers make excuses like this, when they know that they lost.

Why not find some video of the bout that resulted in the Aussie boxer dying? Would a stoppage have benefitted him?

Or would that have been soft?

Niether of those were bad stoppages. Lopez has shown a repeated pattern in his career of what was happening in that fight.

Not even going to entertain the Kovalev stoppage as it wasnt bad or close to it.

disagree with Josesito stoppage, go look at the video on top, he was not that shaken up, he knew exactly where he was. Even looked better getting up from the 2nd KD when compared to the first.

And if history tells us anything, Josesito does some of his best work in exchanges, same way he broke Ortiz's jaw. Should have been given another shot, stop it if he goes down one more time.

Kovalev, it was a good stoppage. Heavier guys punching harder, one stumbling all over the ring through out the fight, couldn't argue that.

Going soft? The reason the early stoppages are happening imo is that there have been a couple of deaths in recent years.... so they are trying to protect the boxers more.
