The stoppage may have been early but there's no way Pascal was knocking Kovalev out. If anything had the fight went on Pascal would've been stopped in the next twenty seconds or so.

Why? Pascal is a warrior who will fight anyone, he's good for the sport. Why would you want to see him seriously hurt? Cause he's not on Kovalev's ****?

This is the type of shiet boxers with big ego's have to tell themselves to keep their confidence up. It's sad but they have to truly believe this crap so that they don't get gun-shy.

He came back, yet in the eighth round got hurt again. The referee, Luis Pabon, stepped in and waved the fight off. Many observers felt the stoppage was proper. Some felt it came too soon. Pascal, of course, is in the latter camp.

I think a rematch would be much more one-sided. Kovalev will be measured and methodical and will tighten up his defense. It will be more like Kovalev-Hopkins.

Shameless self-promotion. Myself and a buddy talked about the stoppage of this and Josesito Lopez!

This just serves as evidence that Pascal was so far gone that he had no idea of his condition. If there is ever a rematch, I would expect Kovalev to end it earlier than he did this time and by a real KO where Pascal will be on the canvas for a few minutes. Pascal showed heart but little brains if he really thinks he was in any shape to continue.

stoppage may have been a tad quick but Pascal wasn't knocking KOv out. He was going to get seriously hurt.
