there are different kinds of racists. i dont think he despises blacks in a **** kind way and want all blacks eliminated from the earth. but you dont have to be that extreme in order to be racist. many racists have no problem mixing freely with the people they have racist views of, they just consider them lesser people.

He said 'Negro', very different thing.

That word, in many countries, simply means black. It wasn't a racist comment.

Sillakh was polite to Kovalev in person then started trash talking him in his online blog acting two faced. Kovalev didn't appreciate it.

Definitely has a serious mean streak. Maybe too mean, which is why I respect him as a fighter without loving him in the same way as, say, GGG.

Interesting that Eubank and Benn were massively affected by the McLellan and Watson fights, and admit they lost their killer instincts after. But Kovalev seems to have moved on fine. He's sometimes quite sadistic in the ring.

Very, very good fighter though. Toss up between him and GGG as the best offensive fighters in the sport.

Must admit I laughed when I saw him laughing at Pascal. He's definitely got a cruel streak. I was glad the referee stopped it when he did to save Pascal, he was done at that point.

It seems Kovalev can turn on the pain to order, I found it interesting how he was looking at puictures of his kid just moments before a massive fight. Reminded me of when Calzaghe said he knew he had Lacy beaten after he turned up in Britain with his girlfriend and was googly eyed over her before their fight, with Calzaghe saying he should have been in fight mode.

I'm seriously impressed with Kovalev. Jean Pascal is a very good fighter and Kovalev dominated him. The only small negative was that he ate some pretty big shots at times, but even that could be turned into a positive because he just walked through them all.

I went to Russia with my ex girlfriend (mixed race black and white), and another couple who was a black guy and white girl. Some Russian guy went up to the black guy who was with us and said "I'd just like to say i don't agree with you being here. Enjoy yourself and have a nice time and enjoy Moscow but i just want to say i don't agree with it"

Absolutely bizarre. It was the most polite casual racism i've ever heard.
