No I'm talking about Fonfara. The one Stevenson fought when he first went to Showtime. The one that's going to destroy Chavez Jr. That Fonfara.

Loses to Kovalev and becomes just another guy at LHW like Pascal was before this fight before he retires in a couple years.

Don't see such a great future progression for him at this point.
One of those options is that he can beat Kovalev, one of the most feared punchers in the sport today....why is that outlook so bad? lol

He's no longer the #1 LHW. Hopkins+Pascal>Dawson. Lineal but not the best. He's gotta chase Kovalev now.

Mohammedi and Braehmer are next for Kovalev though. Gotta take care of the mandatories.

Sanctioning bodies don't care about networks. They order a mandatory defense and it's up to the fighters to work out the logistics and get it done.

If Duva really wants to make the fight then Kovalev will fight Stevenson, ain't no mandatory getting in the way of that fight.

Kovalev is the one acting like a true champion and fighting the best in Hopkins and Pascal and willing and eager to fight Stevenson. As long as Stevenson ducks Kovalev he will be considered below Kovalev regardless of him being the lineal champion. I am sure Kovalev would beat Stevenson but Stevenson's speed and power give him a chance to win. It looks like he will continue to avoid a fight with Kovalev.

I know I just took it back one more fight. I didn't think much of that Russian either. Same goes for Bika. Bika has fought some big names in his career but he shouldn't be in the same ring with someone like Stevenson.

because he is old, and has no where to really go from there and no interesting fights ahead that are present at this time.
