I think there was one official bout whereas the other one was behind closed doors in the Russian team.

Look up the scorecard for the ONE decision win Beterbiev had over Kovalev - it was a close fight.

        Source: Something called "google".

"Beterbiev has impressive amateur wins over renowned boxers such as Ismayl Sillakh, Michael Hunter Jr., Abbos Atoev, as well as two victories over current WBA, IBF and WBO light heavyweight kingpin Sergey Kovalev.

“When I fought Sergey Kovalev in semi-finals (of the Russian National championship), my heart was already set on the fight with the captain of the Russian team, (Evgeny) Makarenko, in finals,” explained Beterbiev. “My goal was set at that time. I had to beat Makarenko and to do that had to defeat Kovalev, which I did (smiles).”

He had a fierce reputation as one of the biggest knockout artists in the amateur sport, best illustrated by stoppages of Sillakh and Siju Shabazz. "

I am not so sold on this guy just yet, not saying what he will or won't be but I have to see some more to say.

How can you say forget the best guy in the division? Adonis and Kovalev are the creme de le creme. Everybody else is a distant 3rd. Both fighters will make 7 figures and it's going to be freakin sweet.

They were always making 7 figures, at least Stevenson was.

I wasn't aware Kovalev was making 7 figures now. But my point is it's a bigger fight now then it ever was before. This fight needs to happen this year.

I read he was to make 3.2 mill for the Pascal fight but that was speculative a while back, I haven't read his official purse.

I think it was bigger last year, viewed as a genuine 50-50. It's not viewed that way any more by most. Stevenson needs an impressive performance v Bika to generate some hype but Bika's not an easy guy to look good against.

On your avy, you got a ticket or just going for the atmosphere?

Hell , he even defeated Kubrat Pulev ( who's 6 ft 4½ tall , only Klitschko managed to beat him in the pros)...Kovalev already lost twice against Beterbiev.
Forget Adonis? Are you an Al Haymon paid poster?... Then the pimp (who is the WBC and "lineal" champ) should be forgotten just because he's signed with Haymon, right?

Beterbiev (after earning a little more experience in the pros) will actually finish all of them: Adonis, Pascal, Ward... and Kovalev...

But the pimp must face Kovalev right now -- therefore, actually, there will be no pimp left for Beterbiev to destroy...
