  • Comments Thread For: Alfredo Angulo To Return in May, Back With Medina

BoxingScene.com caught up with former interim super welterweight champion Alfredo Angulo who was present at the SpikeTV Premier Boxing Champions card in Ontario, Calif. Friday evening.

Angulo last fought in September when he lost an unanimous decision to James De La Rosa in Las Vegas.

The loss was the Mexicali, Mexico native's third loss in a row which prompted him to make changes to his corner. Angulo advised BoxingScene.com that he was no longer working with Virgil Hunter and was returning to Clemente Medina who he has had his most success with.

Stay at 154, 160 are the guys that can really hurt you. Virgil is a good trainer if you are a boxer with sharp reflexes and boxing intellect, all tools Angulo does not have.

At this point it don't matter what trainer he gets. He has taken some vicious beatings in the ring. He has nothing left.
