I think Berto wins. Algieri doesn't punch hard enough to bother Berto and Berto can come at him hard without worrying about running into any big punches. Berto has fast hands and decent accuracy and combinations so he can outpoint Algieri who lost every round to Pacquiao by a mile. Algieri's claim to fame is one win over Ruslan and I thought he lost that fight. Neither one of these two fighters is any where near the top of the welterweights. I think Berto is slightly the better fighter because of his power that Algieri completely lacks.

Chris Algieri wins, too much of a master boxer for Berto to handle.

      Provo > Berto.

Berto would have a puncher's chance I guess but if he couldn't stop Algieri, then Algieri would likely win a pretty one sided decision.

Berto's not that good. Algieri's worse. Berto wins

Berto is still an explosive heavy handed puncher, Algieri's lack of punching power might get him run over. Say what you may about Berto but he isn't as slow as Provodnikov.

Algieri gives him a boxing lesson. Berto is shot anyway. Lopez was winning that fight till he got caught and KO'd.

Berto by KO or 12-0...there is hardly a worse matchup for Algieri out there. I want to see Berto resurrect his career and Algieri go on to capture some belts, this is not the way for Algieri to get some straps.
